Goosebean is a beautifully restored 18th century character cottage in the heart of of St. Columb Major. Located 5 miles inland and within easy reach of the best surfing beaches in Cornwall, St. Columb Major is a small rural town surrounded by beautiful countryside. Ideally located between Padstow, Wade bridge and Newquay there are plenty of activities available for all the family. Sleeps 5 in three bedrooms: 1 double room, 1 room with bunk beds and 1 single room. The cottage has recently been thoughtfully refurbished and offers perfect accommodation for those seeking a great holiday in Cornwall. Outside, the courtyard garden has table and chairs and barbecue facilities.

St. Columb Major is a small traditional Cornish town located about 5 miles from the coast. The town is surrounded by beautiful countryside ideal for walking and cycling. The town itself retains a community feel, unspoilt by tourism. A variety of traditional shops and pubs are available all within a short walk of each other. There is also a park with a playing field and playground for younger children. St. Columb Major lies equidistant (approx. 7 miles) between the popular towns of Wadebridge and Newquay. Wadebridge lies on the Camel Estuary and boasts a variety of shops, restaurants, art galleries and cinema. Here you will also find cycle hire shops and access to the Camel trail lying between Padstow and Bodmin goal. Newquay offers a lively and buzzing experience for teenagers seeking night life and great surf wear shops. Here, you will also find Newquay Zoo and Hendra swimming complex.

Great Holiday at Goosebean

We had a wonderful time during our stay at Goosebean. The cottage was very well presented when we arrived and the photographs on the website were very up to date. Even though there wasn't alot of outside space this did not interfere with our enjoyment of the place and there are so many beaches nearby that it didn't matter. The park around the corner was fantastic for our two children and they had at least an hour a day in it. There were lots of places to visit nearby. We had fantastic chip butties at Mawgan Porth beach, so good we went twice. We also had a fantastic cream tea in Fowey at Pinky Murphy's cafe, very unusual place. All in all we had a great time and would definitely use the cottage again and would recommend it to our friends.

We had a wonderful stay in your beautiful cottage. The house was beautifully decorated, the bedrooms were perfect for the 5 of us (2 adults and 3 children aged 7, 9 & 11). The cottage was very clean and had all the facilities we needed.

The cottage was perfectly situated near fantastic beaches and other attractions in Cornwall were easy to access. We loved Padstow which had great seafood restaurants.

This was a great place to stay with our family and i would return again.

We were very pleased with our stay at Goosebean and can't wait to book again. The cottage was very well equipped, warm and cosy - it had everything we needed and felt like home. The cottage was clean and tidy on arrival.

The location is ideal for visiting the North Cornwall Coast - including Padstow, Newquay, Watergate bay, Mawgan Porth and Porthcothan. St Columb is also only a short distance from the A30 and therefore perfect for visiting further a-field.

St Columb itself has has a Co-op, butchers etc so you can get your supplies locally, as well as takeaways and pub's - just a few minutes walk down the road,

Would definately recommend.
