Dubrovnik holiday apartment

We enjoyed our stay at Marina II apartment in May 2009. Marina and her husband were extremely helpful with anything that we needed to borrow/ inquire about while we were there, and even dropped off some cake and treats with us through out our stay! The apartment was very clean, and in a great location. It was in a residential neighborhood on a hill just a few minutes walk to the pedestrian only street in Lapad leading to the beach, and to the bus that takes you to the Old City. In the opposite direction, it was just a 10/15 minute walk to the new harbour where you can catch all sorts of ferries to the islands. There is also a nice fish/veg market near the new harbour every morning which does not feel touristy, but used by the locals for their produce etc.

The only negative of the whole place was how tiny the kitchenette/ lounge was. They were the same room and quite small. We tried to make breakfast and dinners there most days, and found the lack of an oven quite difficult. There is a lovely balcony terrace where we ate all our meals, and there is a view of the new harbour, but the place is probably best if you're not planning to cook much or lounge around inside much in the evening.

You couldn't ask for more friendly hosts or a cleaner place to stay. I would definitely recommend it.
