Enjoy the mountain air at our chalet in the mountain village of Monts d'Olmes! The apartment sleeps between six and 12 people and has central heating. It is on two levels with three bedrooms and a WC on the lower floor. The upper floor has a huge sitting room with mountain views, an open fire and DVD; kitchen with kitchen with fridge, gas hob, oven and microwave and a bathroom with a shower. A wooden balcony surrounds the property on both floors - perfect for relaxing in the sunshine and there's also a garden at the rear. You can park in front of the apartment too.

Les Monts d’Olmes is not just a Pyrenean ski resort; it lies in the Ariège, a fascinating region of France which can be explored year-round. The local area is steeped in Cathar history with the famous Château Mont Segur on the drive up to Les Monts d’Olmes. Add the rich viticultural heritage of Corbieres, Minervois and Fitou nearby, the cities of Carcassonne, Toulouse, Lourdes and Perpignan and you can quickly see why this is such an excellent base to explore southern France, the Pyrenees, northern Spain and Andorra at any time of year. There are also plenty of sporting and cultural activities in season such as fishing, trekking, mountaineering, ski de fond, horse riding and mountain biking. Finally you can soothe tired muscles at one of the many nearby thermal baths, most famous of which is Ax-Les-Thermes.

Summer activities in Les Monts d'Olmes: In summer this region of the Pyrenees offers excellent hiking and mountain biking. The chair lift is open for visitors throughout July and August and will also take bikes and arapaos. The views from the top of the resort are breathtaking: a spread of the many mountain peaks in the next valleys and even, in the far distance, the plains of France around Toulouse. The nearby valleys are home to deer, ibex, brown bear and wild boar.

Ski: Mont d’Olmes is a real treasure of a ski resort, especially as it is still relatively unknown to the masses. There’s great skiing, snow boarding and sledging and a new chair lift (installed in 2008). The ski passes are extremely cheap when compared to resorts in the Alps at €240 for an adult season ticket. Ski passes cost from €33 for two days (low season) to €106 for a week-long pass in high season. At present there are 23 pistes with 11 ski lifts and more planned. Bars, restaurants and ski hire shops are plentiful and the resort caters for all levels as well as catering for young families. There’s also an Ecole de Ski Francais The season runs from 1st Dec - 31st March.
