Le Portail Vert offers a choice of two stunning self catering apartments. Each one is perfect for two people and both are stylishly decorated and extremely well equipped with secure parking. The first floor apartment has a south facing balcony, perfect for sunny breakfasts and warm evenings. The ground floor apartment has a private garden with ample space for relaxing in the shade of the old hibiscus tree. Villes sur Auzon is a typical provencal village with everything necessary for day-to day needs: bakeries, general stores, newsagent/tobacconist, hairdresser, post office, gift shops, bars and restaurants and the cave selling the delicious local wine. All this just a few minutes stroll from the apartments! The Mont Ventoux is a wonderful backdrop to an area famous for hilltop villages, Cote du Rhone and Cotes du Ventous wines, the lavender fields, the Roman amphitheatres, the colourful markets, the blue skies and the amazing light that has tempted poets and artists for centuries.

The first floor Tilleul apartment has a south facing balcony - perfect for sunny breakfasts and warm evenings. French windows lead in to the living room with a comfortable two seater sofa, armchair, and the dining area with a table that extends to seat 6. There's a pretty double bedroom and a tiled shower room. Everything is prepared for a warm welcome - the bed is made up, there are fresh flowers in the vase, and we include a complementary bottle of the local wine so that you can relax and start your holiday from the moment you arrive.The resident English owners are happy to offer any help you may need - in English or French. The best recommendation is when people come back for a second, third and even fourth time!

I would highly recommend this lovely Provencal apartment it exceeded expectations Chantal has anticipated every need. The lovely view from the balcony across the village to the hills beyond was a real bonus, as was the proximity of local services. The grocery store virtually at the end of the lane stocked everything you could need including freshly roasted chickens and pork joints. A superb boulangerie further into the village and a family run 'snack bar' serving good meals and open all day as well as another good restaurant at the other end of the lane (2 min walk) made this a perfect location. There is an abundance of wildlife to view from the balcony . The sight of a Hoopoe feeding young was one of the many highlights of our visit. There are numerous waymarked walks in the area.Whilst Avignon, well worth a visit is only about 1hr. away by car as are many lovely villages. We will definitely be making a second visit.

Sue and I were really delighted when we arrived at Tilleul. It was exactly as described in the brochure and fulfilled all our expectations. The location is great, quiet but near the village centre, with a lovely garden. It is a very comfortable, well equipped and beautifully decorated apartment, with good privacy from the apartment below and the owner's residence. Chantal has really thought of everything and could not have been more helpful. The whole area is delightful and many of Provence's major attractions are easily accessible by car on day trips. The village restaurant nearest the apartment is good, but there are plenty of excellent restaurants in the area as well. There are shops in the village which can supply all you need for daily life, but if you want more choice then you have to drive to a supermarket in Carpentras, about 20 minutes away.

The description of the property was entirely accurate regarding the location, layout and facilities. The photos online are also completely accurate unlike most hotel facilities. The property is extremely well kept, the facilities were up to date and modern and yet invitingly personal touches were added. We felt like guests when we arrived and friends when we left. Chantal is an extremely organized and thoughtful person giving you your space and privacy yet completely approachable for ideas and suggestions of the surrounding area. The village is small, walkable and quaint and you have to be prepared to drive a bit to surrounding destinations but who wouldn't want to do that in Provence? I would highly recommend a gps system as the roads are many and will alleviate a myriad of travel frustration. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a bright spacious, modern oasis within a rural environment. The best of both worlds!
