The quiet village Montefoscoli (600 inhabitants) lies among the gently sloping hills of the Valdera, and has a great view towards Volterra and Pisa.

The rural committee looks after guided tours in the 'Museo dellla Civiltà Contadina' and the 'Museo Andrea Vacca'. You can also visit the temple which Andrea Vacca, inhabitant of Montefoscoli and famous doctor in the Empire period, built in 1823, 1km outside of Montefoscoli
