The reserve offers a four star game lodge and luxury safari tents, as well as 3 star (4 sleeper) self-catering farm house unit. The game reserve is home to a large variety of Southern African game species including 22 type of antelope, white rhino, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and many others as well as birds, small predators, primates, and small mammals, all set in a endless play in this spectacular Karoo floral kingdom. The game lodge offers a variety of activities including day and night game drives, horse ride, quad bike trails, walking safaris, archery, rock pool, sauna, billiard room,etc. Self-catering guests can enjoy meals in the hunting lodge by prior booking. Transport from/ to Port Elizabeth airport is available as well as many day excursions including the nearby Addo Elephant National Park, Graaff-Reinet and Kirkwood. A Karoo experience.

The private game reserve: Koffylaagte private game reserve is a 1800 hectare property with pristine Karoo bush, mountains and rolling hills providing a breathtaking uninterrupted African view. Abundant wildlife makes game spotting very easy, enjoyable and successful. The reserve has two 10 seater open game vehicles and provides guests with day and night drives. The reserve also presents a magnificent Karoo fauna and flora and resembles a giant succulent garden with aloes, finger plants and ancient cycads. The game species to be spotted include white rhino, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, eland, gemsbok,black and blue wildebeest, hartebeest,kudu, waterbuck, nyala, bush buck, duiker, steenbok, mountain reedbuck, springbok, impala, warthog, and many small mammals such as mongoose, meercat, porcupine and antbear, as well as a large variety of game birds, birds of prey including the black eagle and primates including baboons and vervet monkeys.

We have stayed in this place recently and enjoyed both the game viewing,accommodation facility and the very warm hospitality of the managers and the entire staff. We recomend to any one who wants to explore the eastern cape region of South Africa. Its a paradise for kids as well as being a tranquil getaway for the elderly. The owners also have couple guest houses in the beach front Port Elizabeth so one can always book a beach extension to their stay.
