The Nest is a cozy, intimate cottage located 1.5 miles from the medieval town of Spoleto. Ideal for two people, it is the perfect hideout in the peace of the Umbrian country. The Nest is on the side of an ancient, beautiful medieval tower, Torre del Falco, and is surrounded by a 12 acres park and woods. The property sits on a hill overlooking a beautiful valley and facing Monte Luco, the first hermitage place of St. Francis of Assisi. Surrounded by an olive grove, the beautiful swimming pool with salty water is there for you to swim or to get lazy lying on a deck chair. The blue of the water melts perfectly with the ivory of the stone, the green of the olives and the violet of the lavender bush, permeating the air with its relaxing fragrance. The cottage is composed by a bright sitting room with kitchenette, a double bed alcove and one bathroom, and has been fully renovated in year 2008. For more information please visit our website.

SSpoleto has a tradition in History and art which goes back to the ancient Roman civilization. You can spend time visiting the castle and the many churches and exhibitions, getting lost in the narrow streets punctuated by artisan shops, discover the Umbrian tastes and flavours in the typical, cosy restaurants, and end the day attending one of the many cultural happenings typical of this town. And when you get tired of human artefacts, you can just walk for hours on end in the surrounding woods and mountains, immersing yourself into the beautiful nature; go for river rafting along the Nera river in beautiful Val Nerina, or for horseback riding along the mountain paths. You can also explore the many breathtaking towns within less than 30 minutes by car: Bevagna, Trevi, Spello, Montefalco and Foligno; or in one hour you can reach Assisi, Orvieto, Deruta, Perugia, Todi, Cascia and Norcia. Rome is 1h 20’ away by train, and Florence is just two hours by car.

Lovely property in a stunning setting

A very warm welcome kicked off a wonderful and relaxing holiday.
We loved the cottage, it's beautifully decorated and in a stunning and peaceful setting. Although snug there was enough room for us and our baby and the cottage was equipped with everything we needed.

The owner was lovely and couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. She was great for tips on places to eat (a pizza place in an old church she recommended did excellent pizza, and Tempio del Gusto was also a top recommendation for a nice romantic dinner).

Spoleto is a lively and interesting place with plenty to keep you occupied. The Nest is on the edge of town, and although it's within walking distance it would probably be advisable to drive at night because the country roads are very dark and windy.

It also makes a great base for touring the other sights of Umbria. Unfortunately we didn't get to see as much as we'd planned - relaxing by the pool in such a beautiful setting proved too irresistable!

I notice that a previous reviewer found there was not enough storage space. When we visited there was a large wardrobe and some drawers in the bedroom, so we had no problem unpacking all our luggage and then storing our cases under the bed.

Perfect for a relaxing holiday, ideally located close to the Town of Spoleto but on a private and quiet hillside. Both the Tower and the nest are furnished to a high standard. The jewel in the crown of this property is the pool and gardens, perfect for cooling off and relaxing after a days sightseeing.

The Nest is truly as beautiful as it appears on the photos, it's only drawback would be the size - if you don't want to trip over your suitcases, you need to put them under the bed and drag them out every time you need something from them (the shelves in the closet are too tiny to put your clothes on).
Owner's Response: Sorry about the closet inconvenience, previous guests never complained about it. Anyway I took the suggestion and put a new, larger cabinet in the Nest.
