This brand new 'Light and Airy' studio and apartment sits proudly on the lower level of the owners villa . They are reachable within 1 hour from Malaga and situated less than 1 mile up a typical Andalucian track just below the beautiful 'Blanco'village of Comares .It has been designed to take full advantage of the 'Breathtaking' views which take into account both the Mediterranean and also the Rugged Mountain Ranges .'Vine Ridge' Studio and Apartment are flexible , comfy and well equipped self contained units which are 'Excellent Value' in stunning surroundings . The accommodation includes use of a 'Roman ' stepped swimming pool from which the Mediterranean can be seen and also the peaks of Mount Maroma. There is also an outdoor shower. Both accommodations have plenty of terraces and outdoor tables and seating and from wherever you look you will see another view, which is appropriate as we located on the 'Buena Vista' walking route with it's amazing views of Andalucia .

This light and airy 'new' Apartment sits high on a hill with views to the Mediterranean and across to the mountains ,it includes the following zones : A double bedroom area romantically styled and completed curtained off, with the added touch of atmospheric lighting. The family kitchen area is of 'Spanish style'-curtained and colourful and above all fully functional and includes the following : 4 ring gas hob, fridge , toaster, kettle , microwave, plenty of cutlery , crockery and cooking utensils . The family table has been purposely positioned to allow the dining experience to incorporate the stunning views from the picturesque patio doors. The living area comprises comfy seats from where you can relax and read 1 of the many books available or watch the Sky Television or a DVD. The bathroom is a large mosaic tiled shower! The added bonus to the Apartment is a children bedroom containing a bunk bed , wardrobe and unit containing enough games for a month !

Comares is a picturesque 'blanco' village uniquely nestling 739 metres above sea level, with amazing views from the sea to sierras.The village is reachable within 1 hour from Malaga and 1hour 20 mins from Granada. Within the hour the amount of attractions available are numerous and diverse ranging from walks to go-carting , pony trekking to water parks ,beaches to historic cities , Spanish bars to English cinema , Air -condition shopping centres to cobbled street villages and golf courses to sandy beaches. Nerja with it's quaint beaches and famous caves is also only 1 hour away and you can be parked and skiing at Sierra Nevada within 2 hours. If you simply want to relax then the Andalucian countryside lends itself wonderfully to picnics, birdwatching , star gazing , painting and dramatic photography . Many people are amazed as to the flexibility of this region of Spain which allows such a 'varied vacation' to be easy achievable within its boundaries . 'Med to Mountains' !!!

Who are we ??: It is always nice to know who you are renting from : Myself (David) and my wife Jacqui purchased this property less than a year ago with the aim to offer ' Good Value' holidays which we would ourselves appreciate. The Studio and Apartment are brand new and of high quality. We have 3 children at local schools, 3 dogs , numerous Guinea Pigs and 1 Rabbit . Our aim is to allow couples and families to enjoy the beautiful Andalucian surroundings ,which both 'Vine Ridge' studio and apartment are designed to achieve . The views still give us the 'WOW' factor after 1 year of living here and we are confident that they will do likewise for you . We can offer baby sitting and Taxi services and hope that all our customers holidays will be enjoyable and fun at a very 'Realistic' price .

Local Activities and Comares Village Facilities: Comares can be reached in 10 min drive and 20 min walking and once there it's wonderful Moorish history can be enjoyed via its well planned walking route. In the quaint village there are several restaurants where you can enjoy 'Spanish or English ' Fayre all child friendly. Also a large communal swimming pool opened in July and August . The following can be arranged : Pony Trekking or Beginners Classes. David can take you off road in his 4x4 . A qualified beautician can pamper you from Tip 2 Toe. The area lends itself to Walking and Mountain Biking . Restaurants recommended . Bird Watching . Star Gazing in a very unpolluted sky.

Less than an Hour: Numerous Beaches ,Shopping , City Culture, Water Parks , Bowling , Cinema . The lovely resort of Nerja and it's famous caves . The unspoilt beach resort of Torre Del Mar , with it's pleasant promenade , numerous parks area and diverse eateries.

Ski: The nearest ski resort is in Sierra Nevada approx a 1hour 45 min drive away .

Golf: The nearest golf course is approx a 40 minute drive away.The 18 hole Baveria Golf Course is between Velez Malaga and Torre Del Mar and membership is not required.Details on request.

Beautiful and tranquil a perfect place to unwind.

No matter how long or often you look, the stunning views still amaze you the next time you look! Even in the evenings you can`t help but lose time studying the stars or all the twinkling lights of the villages below. On several occasions we saw birds of prey & many other species riding the warm air through the valley.
The setting is very peaceful with a gentle breeze keeping you comfortable during the heat of the day, very handy when you can`t bring yourself to stray to far from the pool!
We Found David, Jaqui & the girls were very welcoming with a friendly helpful outlook with a good local knowledge which they were happy to share with us.
Comares is a lovely village 20 minutes walk away.. "take some water" David advised us with a knowing smile... We were very grateful to stumble into the first bar we came across upon arrival for an ice cold beer!!
Comares is beautiful and seems to be caught in a time warp, what you expect an old Spanish village to be.
The apartment was very clean & well laid out with everything we needed & we were suprised at the amount of toys in the spare bedroom, perfect if you have a young family.
Lorraine & i went just to unwind from a busy workload & both felt very relaxed at the end of our five night stay.
We felt it was excellent value for money.
If you are looking to party 24/7 at a crowded resort then look elsewhere but for us we found it was perfect & would gladly recommend it to others.
If as we did, you`re sat there reading this undecided.. all i can say is book it i`m sure you wont be disappointed.
Lastly we would like to say thank you to David Jaqui & the girls for a lovely stay. We would like to think that we will find the time to stay again some time in the near future.

Vine Ridge really is a slice of heaven for an extremely reasonable price. As far as the pictures on the website go, the location and accommodation live up to this, and more. The mountain views are panoramic (you’re nearly 750 feet above sea level) and stretch almost 360 degrees; you can watch the birds from the pool as they glide, chirp and perch at eye level; the studio accommodation is immaculate and had been very thoughtfully designed and finished, and the private outside seating area is perfect for evening meals whilst you drink wine and listen to the crickets singing into the absolute stillness. David and Jacqui are fantastic hosts – they’re cheerful and friendly and always happy to offer guidance with days out and directions for walking and driving. There are some great walks on your immediate doorstep: although you might want to limit these to early morning or early evening if you visit in Summer. Comares and the surrounding area is very unspoilt: a perfect location for a very traditional experience of Spain (although the waiters at the restaurants and bars do speak English). All in all, the setting for a pretty perfect holiday.

We are often finding that although there are plenty of activities no more than one hour away guest appear more than happy to spend a large percentage of their time simply at "Vine Ridge", this makes us very proud indeed and long may it continue.

Amazing place to stay for a romantic getaway

We liked the apartment a lot. Feels like a luxury getaway, yet with the tranquility of the surroundings and the beautiful views.
The apartment is brand new and very nice decorated in the Mediterranean style.
The owners are very kind and welcoming and I would definitely will come back.
Owner's Response: When we get a review like this from a young couple who have appreciated what we are aiming to achieve at "Vine Ridge" then it makes us realise we are on the right tracks.
Although we always emphasise that we are "Value for Money" we have always focused on keeping the quality side of self catering to a very high standard and we always feel proud when customers expectations are exceeded.
It is lovely that we are hosting customers from Russia, Canada, Switzerland, Holland, Italy, Spain and of course Great Britian in our first year. Here's to the rest of the world discovering "Vine Ridge".
