Beziers holiday house: Béziers city centre

My family, wife and 3 of our 4 children stayed in this house for 3 weeks July 08 and enjoyed our stay there very much. One of the things which stood out was the hospitality shown to us by the owner, Mr. W.
We stayed in the 3 bedroom house and it was spotless and decorated to a high standard. It was the little things which stood out but were important, sweets in a jar and wine upon our arrival, over 200 dvds with wide screen tv, outdoor pool ( not full size but more than adequate). Mr. W was very helpful and it was great to use his local knowledge to explore the area in full detail. This was far better than relying on tourist books and indeed we had several enjoyable days in areas of outstanding beauty based on his recommendations.
Our children ranged in age from 12 to 16 years and they all had a ball. Mr W graciously allowed us use of 4 bicycles he keeps in his garage and with our own bike several memorable trips were made on the Canal du Midi.
One has a choice of beaches all about 30 minute drive at the most. We also spent several days in nearby town with wide river and safe bathing. There is a lake not too far away which was not crowded and again we went out here 2 or 3 times.
The house is very private and more importantly in a quiet area. It is semi detached so there could be someone else next door to you but we did not find this a problem. We used the house as a base, leaving around mid morning and returning around 9 or 10 pm whereby we would then watch a dvd movie.
There are several supermarkets close by and lots of activities close by, horse riding, fun parks etc.
It is a good place to go for an active holiday or if you just want to relax and enjoy the good weather, culture and general atmosphere.
We have outgrown the mobile home and this type of house caters for all.
We had such a good time that this year we decided to go again to the same house and are looking forward to it. We would not be doing this lightly as we would have quite high service expectations and this house and area met all our needs.
Beziers as a town did not appeal to us, typical high street boutique stores. It does have an outdoor market which is worth seeing.
Sadly the owner of the house, Mr W, is given to hallucinations and has mixed up the Munster European Rugby Champions flag for the Welsh flag............we can' t all be perfect.
