About the house:
The house was built around 1800 and was at one time tthe closest farm to Béziers. It later became a pottery and many relics of this era can be found around the grounds. The City has long since grown all around the property and the house, which is still registered as a farm, has become the largest private property within the Béziers urban area and the only farm in town even though we no longer have animals. The house has of course been fully renovated and equipped with all modern facilities, but we have tried our best to retain that yesteryear look about the place.
Within walking distance of the house:
As the house is in Béziers city centre there are far too many historic sites of interest to mention, but here are just a few. The famous Madelaine church in which the entire population of Béziers was massacred in 1209 during the Cathare crusades. The St. Nazaire cathedral with its spectacular view from the top of the bell tower. The nine lockgates in the Canal du Midi. The Béziers museum and numerous art galleries. It almost goes without saying that the city has plenty of bars, restaurants, shops and cinemas.
