PODERNOVO DI MONTICIANO is a traditional Tuscan-style holiday Villa with private swimming-pool. The Villa is divided into holiday apartments. One large apartment occupies the first and second floor of the left side of the building and sleeps up to 10 people. A smaller one, on same floor and opposite to it, sleeps 2 people. Three apartments occupy the right part of the building and sleep respectively 2,3,4 people. Podernovo is surrounded by woods and farmland. The rivers Farma and Merse flow nearby, still rich in freshwater prawns. Sunflowers and wheat grow in large clearings, although most of the ground is taken up by forests. The accommodation is completely self-contained, with equipped kitchenettes and ensuite bathrooms. All apartments are simply but tastefully furnished and decorated, and have full central heating.The location (450 mt-1500ft above sea level) and the green surroundings mean generally cooler temperatures during summertime.

Charming mezzanine floor apartment. Small entrance/reading room with table and double sofabed opens onto a large bedroom (sleeps 2). Double bed, table and chairs, wooden cupboard. Double bed can easily made into 2 single beds. Separate kitchenette (in a lovely mini room that overlooks the entrance garden) with 2 gas hobs, sink, small fridge/freezer,hood and microwave. Bathroom with shower and bidet. Handmade terracotta floors, chestnut wooden beamed ceilings, walls tastefully decorated with natural lime and subtle natural oxide colours. Very charming look-and-feel, peaceful and romantic.The bedroom overlooks the entrance garden.

The area is criss-crossed by well-marked paths, for walks or rides and there are beautiful horse trekking trails in the forests, with guided tours to the sea.Petriolo free natural hot-pools are just 10 minutes’drive away.The new elegant Gran Resort SPA (membership available daily) is in short driving distance.For golf enthusiasts there are courses in the radius of 70 km. The Cappella di Montesiepi, next to the San Galgano Abbey, is a magical place and holds a sword in the stone! Not surprisingly, as the “via Francigena”, the historical medieval road that goes from Scotland to Rome, runs here. Petriolo free natural hot-pools are just a short drive away from the Villa, all other Spas are within one hou'r's drive. The new elegant Gran Resort SPA (membership available daily)is only 20 km from the Villa, and new 18-hole golf course, next to the SPA, will open in 2010. Many daily outings are indeed possible to art cities and historical places.The beautiful white beaches of Uccellina National Park in the Maremma area, are reachable in 1 hour by car.
