Situated in the oldest part of Port Vendres and only 2 minutes from the harbour, this rebuilt village house is two apartments; one a studio for 2 and the other suitable for a family or sharing couples. It is our home in France and equipped for our comforts. Each has the same quality spec with double glazing, heating/air-con, dishwasher, electric cooker, fridge, MW, DVD player/radio, iPod station, double beds, en suite shower rooms, shaver points, hair-dryer, washing/dryer machine, garage & nearby parking.One hour from Gerona & Perpignan & 2 from Barcelona airports There is a port, marina, beaches, many outdoor amenities & sea sports as well as wonderful walks. The village is self-sufficient with excellent local and friendly shops, supermarkets, many varied restaurants, cafes and has a Saturday market only 100m away from the house. The fishing quay sells fresh fish, excellent local wine is available close by. Collioure is 5 mins and the region of Roussillon is spectacular to visit

This is a comfortable studio-apartment is suitable for two people sharing. The floor is terracotta tiles and consists of a kitchenette with all mod-cons; plenty of cupboard & cooking surface, attractive crockery, & plenty of utensils. The living area is spacious & comfortably furnished with brown leather chairs. The room opens out through 2 full height French windows on to a south-facing balcony. Secluded in a cupboard behind a an electrically driven pine wood roller shutter is a Foldaway bed that is easy to operate. There is a modern shower room with glass cabinet shower, WC & wash hand basin with efficient heater/towel rail and hair-dryer.  Double glazing is throughout and wooden Venetian blinds help to maintain the cool atmosphere in the hot summer days. All water is heated by roof solar panels which is stored in the laundry where a washer/dryer is for client use. The garage can house a small family car and street parking is also available.

These two self-catering apartments, suitable for 2 to 6 sharing are in one of the most fortunate micro-climates in the most southern part of Mediterranean France nestling under the Pyrenees. The picturesque fishing village of Collioure of Matisse, Dufy, Picasso and Charles Rennie Mackintosh fame who set up their easels here because of the exceptional light, beautiful countryside & magical coastline is a mere 2km easy walking distance. Port Vendres is proudly in French Catalonia & has strong affiliation with Spanish Catalonia 20km away, being only 2 hours drive from its capital Barcelona. At the time when the balance is settled a refundable damage deposit of £200 is added which will be returned soon after the end of the rental period, pending a satisfactory inspection for damage. Notes: This ground floor studio apartment, although not directly accessible by wheel chair, is suitable for elderly couple and once over the entry doorstep, storage of a wheelchair is easy and accessibility of facilities is easy.The garage is underneath and accessed from the street in front, (Rue de l'Egalite). There is space for a small saloon car reserved for this studio-apartment. At the rear of the garage is a laundry where a washer/dryer is available for all clients to use. We are not able to accept animal pets and ask clients to refrain from smoking inside. Although television reception is not linked, the DVD player is a TV set. There is no land line telephone socket but internet reception is possible with a Huawei Mobile receiver (dongle).

The mature St Cyprien golf course is about 18km away on the southern edge of the inshore lake of Etang de Canet.  Contained within the apartment leaflets are brochures and details of the many water sporting activities from simple trips around the bay to deep sea diving.For mountaineering enthusiasts, the Grande Randonnee 10 starts at nearby Banyuls-sur-Mer and follows the ridge of the Alberes along the Spanish frontier. Many other lighter local walks are worthy of the breathtaking views they offer.The Alberes (10km) also offer a host of fine walks up though the valleys with the Tour de Massane being a challenge for proper hikers.About an hour away by car, the foothills of Pic Canigou offer numerous opportunities to walk to the summit of 2784m, by foot or by jeep and exploring the monastery of St Martin high up under its shadows is a memorable trip.From Villefranche-de-Conflent the petit train jaune takes skiers & walkers up to Font Romeu and beyond

The apartments are serviced regularly and will be clean on arrival. There is a meet and greet service for clients who arrive during the day and coded key boxes are provided for later arrivals. It would be helpful for clients to leave the apartments in a reasonable state of cleanliness and we ask for all breakages to be declared.

my boyfriend and i spent 10 days in this little apartment in port vendres this summer and had a great time. the apartment is lovely: nicely furnished, very well equipped with all kinds of kitchen utensils etc. we liked port vendres very much, too. relatively quiet compared to places such as collioure, but very pretty and enough choice in terms of shops, restaurants etc. to make a tourist happy :)
we'd go again any time!

Wonderful holiday for 2

My husband and I spent a week in the studio apartment in April 2009. We only have good things to stay about this lovely little place. All the conveniences are there, as well as everything needed for gourmet cooking and eating in. The village is a delight, the local wine merchants very helpful and there is a boulangerie at almost every street corner. With the fish market and local butcher shop, it is a foodie paradise. We recommend a visit to La Vinaigrerie la Guinelle and the walks outlined in the host's helpful book of suggestions. You could stay here without a car, but renting one allowed us the luxury of driving to some of the incredible places in the area and as far as Carcassone to see La Cité and eat cassoulet and to Figueres to the Dali museum. The history of this part of France captivates one's imagination.

My husband and I spent a week here in early September.. It is exttremely well equipped, clean and very comfortable. Port Vendres is lovely and from the house you have extremely easy access to the shops,cafes and restaurants. Don't miss a trip to the Fish Market. What a sensation. Collioure is an easy walk and well worth the effort, another picturesque village, colourful houses, meandering streets and another pretty harbour. If you fancy trying your language skills the local neighbours are delightful and happy to oblige. We shall definitley come back again and have no hesitation in recommending it to friends.

Excellent location and a charming and well appointed Town House/ 2 floor apartment. The place was spotless, and the location just one minute from the sea front, perfect. Great sea food restaurants and right next door to Collioure one of the most beautiful mediterranean villages.

A great french experience!

I recently visited Port Vendres with my boyfriend for a long weekend. Within 4hrs of leaving London we were immerced in the beautiful French harbour town.

We were really impressed with the apartment, which was very clean, comfortable and fully fitted out with all the mod cons you could ever need on a trip away; from an ipod-docker, t.v, cafetiere, power shower to a washing machine and dish washer. I would recommend the studio apartment for a solo traveller or couple.

Located just one block away from the market square, daily fish market, restaurants and boulangerie- it's a gorgeous french town to spend time relaxing in and watching the world go by. We didn't have a car but could walk to Couliore quite easily, another great french town to explore! The local activities are well documented in an information pack put together by the property owner and kept in the apartment. Although some of these activities were out of season in February we kept ourselves busy exploring local walks and the local cafes and restaurants.

There were blue skies and sunshine each day and in the summer months I can imagine the variety of local beaches would be very appealing as well! We'd definitely look at booking another trip!
