Mas du Murier Blanc is a farmhouse consisting of three buildings surrounding a courtyard. The owners recently renovated part of the farmhouse to create a rental property for guests. With five bedrooms over two floors to take up to 10 guests, the rental home is fully self-contained. It overlooks the courtyard above the vaulted former stables and `caves' at ground level. A shaded terrace provides a cool spot for al fresco meals. In the garden at the rear is a secure 6x12 metre swimming pool. The property is in a pocket of calm with spectacular views of the Cevennes Mountains. Children can play on a swing in the garden, and everyone will enjoy table tennis or boules. The kitchen has a Siemens oven, a gas stovetop, dishwasher, microwave and fridge freezer. The table in the living/dining area seats ten and there are sofas for all to relax on while reading, watching television and DVDs or listening to music on the stereo. The bright bedrooms have ceiling fans to ensure a comfortable sleep.

Uzès is a magnet with its sophisticated mix of arts and crafts. The picturesque market town hosts a dance festival in June and a wine and jazz festival in July. The visitor centre of liquorice-maker Haribo is a must for kids. The region is steeped in history.The Romans left the spectacular Pont du Gard aqueduct and the arenas of Arles and Nimes. Avignon was home to Popes and Crusaders left from Aigues-Mortes, the former port of the Camargue. West of Alès is the steam train that climbs up into the Cevennes mountains amid some breathtaking scenery, where there are also hiking or biking trails. The region also boasts spectacular caverns. Closer to the River Rhone are some of the finest vineyards in southern France, notably at Tavel and Chateauneuf-du-Pape. For the more active, there is tennis nearby at Lussan or paragliding off Mont Bouquet. Kayaking on the Gardon ends memorably as you pass under the Pont du Gard.

  • Washing facilities are provided in a separate block near the garden, where there is a washing line. There is a shower and toilet here for those reluctant to venture too far from the side of the pool. The inner courtyard has a barbecue next to the former bread oven of the farmhouse.

  • There are three bedrooms in the converted hayloft, equipped with ceiling fans for comfort. The Orange bedroom overlooks the terrace and is decorated in colours befitting the warm summer. The bedroom has a large pine wardrobe and an Afghan kilim. It is ideal for parents with young children, with ample room for a cot. The Azur bedroom is the lightest room in the upper floor. It is equipped with a pair of twin beds and two wardrobes. The Yellow bedroom is popular with children because of its fun colours. It has a pair of twin beds and cupboard space for storage. There are two bedrooms off the main living area. The first has a double bed and an antique wardrobe. Its ensuite shower room includes a toilet. Opening off the living room, the second bedroom has a double bed and a wardrobe.

Notes: The tiled 12x6 metre swimming pool is fenced off and has an electric security cover. The pool is saline and is maintained once a week. Sunloungers and deck chairs are provided by the pool. In the garden there is a swing for children. There is also table tennis and games including boules, badminton, and volley ball. There are also two mountain bikes for those wishing to explore the trails.
