New for 2009 3 bedroom ski apartment of 69 m2 sleeping up to 6 people. Links directly into the Grand Rousses (Alpe d'Huez range). Very well furnished for personal use, consists of 3 bedrooms; one double room, 1 twin room, and one cabin with double bunk bed. 2 bathrooms, one with shower/bath/WC, the other with shower/WC, an open plan living space including kitchen and large South and West facing balconies overlooking the mountains and down the valley. Ski locker and integral garage and lift. The apartment is 200m from the ski lifts and swimming pool, a great option for a family holiday, with easy to access the slopes quickly and very convenient for ski school and the main facilities in the village including the 25m swimming pool, gym and sauna. The apartment occupies a quiet spot with fantastic panoramic views up the mountain and down the valley. Excellent also for summer activities including mountain biking, climbing, walking with the cable car running from June - August.

Vaujany combines the charm of an alpine mountain village with exceptional facilities including ice rink, swimming pool and one of the fastest cable cars in Europe linking it to the Alpe d'Huez ski range, Les Grandes Rousses. The The leisure centre (Espace Loisirs) provides facilities including main pool, paddle pool, water slide, sauna, spa, jacuzzi, hammam, gym and health centre. Vaujany has shops, bars and restaurants in the village. In addition to some of the best skiing in the alps in winter, the summer provides an excellent base for mountain biking, road cycling, mountaineering, walking and family holidays. The village is within easy reach of Grenoble airport, but also convenient to be accessed from Lyons, Chambery and further away Geneva. Vaujany can be accessed by public transport or private taxi, or by hiring a car you can also access the resorts of Les Deux Alpes and La Grave.

Skiing : From Vaujany, you have access to the Grande Rousses massif, the ski resort of Alpe d’Huez and surrounding resorts of Auris-en-Oisans, Huez-en-Oisans, Oz-en-Oisans and Villard Reculas. Access to the region is easy from the apartment – 150 m away is the 160 person cable car that connects you to the region. Highlights of the area include Pic Blanc, the highest peak at 3,300m where you can ski the longest black run in Europe, the famous Sarenne (16km), or the champagne run, 7.5 miles from the top of the glacier to the bottom of La Fare just below the village. In total the 85 lifts serve runs for all level of abilities, including an excellent nursery slope. As well as having one of the best snow records in the Alps, investment has been made to provide guaranteed snow cover. Already equipped with one of the largest snow-production plants, the area now has a second automatic snow production unit, supplying a further 16km of slopes via 285 snow canons.

We stayed in this apartment last February and had a wonderful holiday. The apartment is lovely - well equipped and very nicely furnished. Access to the cable car is really easy and the village itself is beautiful. There are loads of good bars and restaurants (including a fab Italian that we ate at twice!), as well as a great leisure centre, all within a very short walk. Our group included 17-24 year olds, who even found a lively nightclub in the village.

Skiing was fantastic - our family are of mixed ability, and all of us were able to find exactly what we were looking for: Alpes d'Huez is great for beginners and the advanced skiers amongst us were very happy with all the challenging black runs (one of them is the longest in Europe), all accessible without having to drive anywhere.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment, and this area, as a great place for a family ski holiday - we hope to go back there ourselves very soon!
