Welcome to our luxury apartment on the waterfront of Carteret, Normandy's most chic town. Set right in the heart of Carteret , with it`s two en-suite bedrooms and three balconies, this luxury accommodation is only a few steps away from trendy boutiques and top class restaurants. It forms part of the recently constructed and imposing Residence D'Angleterre on the Rue de Paris at the heart of the chic family resort of Carteret in Normandy. The apartment has two en-suite bedrooms, underfloor heating, 3 large wooden-decked balconies and electric shutters on all windows. With it`s porthole style windows and wooden-decked balconies the apartment has been designed with the feel of a transatlantic passenger liner, and has been equipped with the highest quality, modern furnishings.

Carteret,s waterfront bustles with activity: at high tide sailing yachts and motor vessels make their way to and fro from the marina and trawlers unload their catch straight onto the quay at the Gare Maritime. Carteret,s spectacular beaches are safe and sheltered in summer. They have been awarded the European Blue Flag for water that has been warmed by the Gulf Stream. There are miles of un-spoilt coastline and protected dunes. There are many excellent restaurants to choose from within easy walking distance, including L'Hermitage, the Michelin-starred Marine Hotel which is situated next door, and Le Potinière that may be found on the beach. Nearby Barneville, that is accessible on foot offers a market, cinema and supermarket. You are close to many of Normandy's top attractions such as Mont Saint Michel, Bayeux, and the DDay Landing Beaches.

  • The prices quoted include electricity, water, heating and all linen and towels.
    A non returnable deposit of £150 per week is required to secure your booking, with balance due 2 months prior to your arrival.
  • The apartment will be cleaned to a very high standard and made ready for your arrival. There is a £30 cleaning fee for this service.
    Please note the apartment is not suitable for children under the age of 10 years.
  • Bookings are normally taken from Saturday to Saturday. The apartment is available from 4pm on the day of arrival to 10am on the day of departure. These rules are not rigid and if you need to arrive on a different day please ask.
    Outside of the main holiday periods we are happy to take bookings on a daily basis, with a minimum stay of three nights.

Notes: The lounge/dining room is so relaxing with a leather sofa, stone coffee table, flat screen television with both English and French channels plus DVD player. Plenty of games and books are also provided. The solid stone dining table, made from river bedrock, has enough room to seat six people. Double doors lead onto a massive south facing balcony that spans the entire width of the apartment. Out here you will find plenty of tables and chairs to dine al fresco. The modern kitchen has everything you need with a built in oven, induction hob, coffee machine, kettle, integrated microwave, fridge and dishwasher. Good quality cutlery and crockery have also been supplied. There is also a combined washing machine and tumble dryer.

A GREAT SUMMER HOLIDAY

Marcela & I had a fantastic holiday with our three year old, Christopher, in this beautiful apartment set in the heart of a bustling little town. As advertised the apartment was extremely well presented and immacualtely clean with crisp bedding and lovely soft towels. The owners were great, providing exactly what was needed - a light touch but always available for advice or a helping hand. We have recommended this little haven to numerous friends and plan to go back this summer.

The location is superb, just twenty minutes from Cherbourg and right in the middle of a lovely town that is quite uniquely filled with really nice french people! The ladies in the Comptoir de Carteret are a fine example. The prices are a little elevated in "Little Harrods" but they take your euros with a sweet smile, and its really no worse than the butcher in Salcombe. The beach is just a ten minute stroll along the river's edge. No need to rush in order to place your towel as there is plenty of room for everybody. For us with a little person who refused to get out of the surf or shallow ponds that form as the tide recedes safety was paramount: there are no strange currents to catch you out and every body seems to keep an eye out for each other's children. Le Poitiniere beach restaurant is great for all ages and with happy-hour starting early its not bad for sun drenched mums & dads also! Walking back after a hard day on the beach you can select your evening's menu; the establishments range from cheap and cheerful steak and chips to the finest haute cusine. Of course the sea food is delicious as you would expect: the oysters from St Vaast are the most delicious i have ever eaten. Alternatively whilst my wife was showering i'd nip to the nearby supermarket and buy super which we then prepared at home. As a yachtsman with a wife that doesn't sail for me the apartment with views over the estuary was the ultimate compromise; in the morning before leaving the flat i could check the tides and assess the day ahead while eating a croissant on the balcony all within sight of the marina and earshot of a clattering halyard. Our thanks to Darell & Susan for making our holiday such fun.

This well located and appointed apartment is ideal for a touring holiday within the region. Is within close proximity to excellant restaurants, shops, market, beaches and being in the centre of Carteret next to the harbour adds to its charm. The owners met us upon arrival to ensure that we had all the essentials and went out of their way to make our stay a memorable one. The apartment has all modern appliances and amenities.

Lovely time at Carteret

We had a wonderful time at the appartment. It is well positioned right in the little high street overlooking the sea, with convenient general stores and bakers right opposite, and parking just down the road. The appartment is light and modern and well equipped. The stairs from the outside up to the appartment are quite steep, but there is a handrail. In the appartment itself the stairs are gentler and wide, again with hand rail. You can catch the sun at any time of day as there are balconies both sides. We would have no hesitation in recommending it.

Great location and immaculate apartment

We thoroughly recommend this apartment. It was in an excellent location above the main street in Carteret (but still quiet at night) with a sea view from the balcony. The flat was spacious, clean, modern, stylish and well-furnished with a well-equipped kitchen and great bathrooms. The owners were welcoming and friendly and there are lots of nice touches in the apartment. We'd recommend it to friends and love to return.
