Il Pascolo is a recently restored farmhouse typical of the area (now with all modern conveniences), situated between the hill towns of San Ginesio and Colmurano. It is set in a tranquil and pleasantly rolling landscape, enjoying relaxing panoramic views. Its locality gives the opportunity to experience the many and various pleasures of the region, from the high mountain plains of the Sibillinis, through the many fortified hill towns, to the beaches of the Adriatic coast. The spacious self catering apartment is privately entered via a traditional external staircase and comprises hallway, large double bedroom, open plan lounge/kitchen/diner and shower room. It offers ideal accomodation for couples, but there is a sofabed in the lounge for additional guests and a travel cot is available on request for small children. Guests are invited to share the newly landscaped and planted one acre garden with its 9mx4.5m swimming pool, large shaded pergola with barbecue. There is ample parking.

The Sibillini National Park provides year round activities, from skiing in winter snows, to walking, cycling and horse riding. Enjoy the high plain of the Piano Grande with its spring flowers, swim in the clear waters of Lake Fiastra or take a relaxing traffic free drive to experience the best views in central Italy. Macerata hosts its open air opera season at the Sferisterio. The Abbadia di Fiastra and the remains of the roman town of Urbs Salvia are both close by. The coastline offers variety from the beautiful cliff edged Conero Peninsula to the clean well managed sunbathing beaches with their fish restaurants and bars. Designer shopping outlets from local manufacturers add a further dimension. Restaurants offering locally produced food and wine are within easy reach, as are markets, shops and supermarkets. Our Fantastic Italian experience!

We had a fantastic time here in August with our 2 children. Off the beaten track, peaceful and beautiful location - just how we like it. Accomodation as already mentioned was, clean, comfortable and well equipped. The surrounding villages (often hidden in the hills) provided plenty for us to explore.
Very helpful and knowledgable owners.
Favourite restaurants - the one with an incredible view at S Angela in Pontano and Pippo & Gabriella.
Favourite places included the castle at Caldorola, the Medieval celebrations in San Genesio, swimming in Lake Fiastra and driving/walking in the spectacular national park surrounding it.
The highlight of our days was coming back to Il Pascolo to cool off in the pool, relax in front of the amazing view with a glass of local Verdiccio. A car is a must, but if you love freedom to roam in unspoilt beautiful Italian countryside and all it has to offer, with a very comfortable base, I would definitely recommend it.

An Italian dream

The ideal place for a quiet holiday. The facilities invite you to stay on the property: charming and comfortable apartment, good pool, nice garden seats with a stunning view on the hills, very hospitable atmosphere created by the resident owner, ... On the other hand the neighbourhood is attractive as well, and most of the attractions are within easy reach. The painted chapel at The St Nicholas in Tolentino, the piazza of Ascoli Piceno and the Sibelline Mountains certainly are our top 3 of the region.
You certainly don't stumble over restaurants - nor tourists- here, but in the summertime there's always a local feast where one eats wonderful food with the local people. Look out for local posters advertising a "sagra" (or festive meal). And don't forget to have an icecream in La Dolce Vita in the nearby village of Colmurano!
Il Pascolo is along a road that was in a pitiful state at the moment of our stay. You need a good car, but the remoteness of the place is of course also part of its charm.
We were there for a fortnight but we could easily have stayed twice as long ... .
Owner's Response: The strada bianca (white road) leading to the property is an unpaved road, common to the area, and had recently been subject to several heavy thunderstorms with some surface damage making passage understandingly difficult in part at the time of our guest's stay. Normally passage is ok but future guests should be wary of possible inconveniences.

Very quiet and oh so beautifull!!!

The house was excellent and very complete. The kitchen was big with everything in it you could possibly need! There was a big bedroom with lots of space for clothes and other things and a smal but clean bathroom. The property was clean. But the most beautiful about this place is the view!!!!!
It's a very quiet place and you need a good car to get there, but once you are arrived it's great!!!!
The owner was very helpfull and kind. He picked us up in a town nearby and accompanied us to the house.

An idyllic setting

We have stayed here twice and can certainly recommend it.The apartment is very comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. It is a very beautiful and quiet setting. There are many small villages nearby with market days and plenty of restaurants within easy reach.

The surrounding countryside is outstanding, ideal for those who like walking in the mountains and by the lakes. The area is certainly not a busy tourist location, but that adds to the attraction.
