The chateau, lies just south of the Loire Valley in an unspoiled pastoral region of winding back roads, charming villages, and numerous chateaux. Its 16 bedrooms along with updated en-suite bathrooms, reception rooms, a grand terrace and a 56 acre walled estate, make it ideal for group holidays, weddings and retreats. The oldest part of the chateau, the 12thC medieval tower with its distinctive spiral staircase, was built on the site of an old Roman fortification. It was enlarged substantially during the Renaissance, and again in the mid 19thC by the Comte du Beauchamp who incorporated the styles of the earlier eras into a harmonious whole. The chateau can sleep up to 34 in permanent beds. In addition 9 full sized (120 cm) single beds and 2 foldaway children cots can be added at an additional charge to sleep groups of 45.

Places of interest: Abbey of Nouaille Maupertuis – 13 km. Moated, medieval abbey adjacent to the 1356 “Battle of Poitiers” battlefield. Angles sur l’Anglin – 34 km.     A full or part time cook can also be arranged with cost dependent on expectations. Typically this will be in the region of 20 - 30 euros per hour.

    Maid service, extra cleaning, and babysitting are available for 20 euros per hour.

    We host a large number of weddings at the chateau and can seat parties of up to 200 indoors with larger receptions on the terrace or in the park where marquees can be set up. We provide wedding planning services for a fee or can provide contact information for caterers, musicians, florists, marquee hire etc. to those wanting to make their own arrangements.
  • - Security deposit: €500. This is paid on arrival and will be refunded in full after departure (within 30 days) subject to damage inspection.
    - Linen & towels: All bed linen is included in the rental price. Please bring your own towels.
    - Energy costs: There is a 40 euro per day charge for central heating if required. This will be deducted from the security deposit.
    - End of stay cleaning: Included.
