Take a picnic down to the lakes, borrow a rod from us and try fly fishing for trout (juniors very welcome). Walk across the beautiful High Weald countryside to Herstmonceux Castle and Science Museum. This large bungalow is set on a 120 acre farm (no cattle!) for walking and exploring with a popular trout fishery and 2 lakes all in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Close to the village of Herstmonceux within walking distance of shops, pubs and Sun Dials restaurant. It has a big fenced garden (no ponds), a generous new kitchen with dishwasher, washer dryer, microwave and fridge freezer; a large living room with open fireplace, flat screen TV with Sky and DVD and 3 large double bedrooms. Bed linen, towels, electricity and central heating included. The property was refurbished in 2009 and offers a good level of accommodation for either groups of friends or families. The property is located about 80 meters down a shared private drive off the A271 on the edge of Windmill Hill.

Next to this is the Observatory Science Centre, with its domes and telescopes, part of the former home of the Royal Greenwich Observatory.Close by is the historic town of Battle with its Abbey, restaurants and many individual shops. East Sussex has more woodland than any other county, making it a wonderful place to explore using the extensive network of footpaths (see OS Map 124).     All bed linen and towels are included. These are changed on a weekly basis. If you are staying for longer than a week we can arrange for the property to be cleaned for you at a small additional cost.

Fishing: Brick Farm Lakes is a trout fishery open to the general public all year round, pre-booking is not required. Brick Farm Lakes is located in open countryside in an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) near Herstmonceux in East Sussex. There are two lakes totalling about 4 acres both very well stocked weekly with rainbow trout. Brick Farm Lakes believes it is a leader in inexpensive smallwater fishing, stocking 15,000 plus trout a year ranging from 1.5lb to 20lb and having a yearly attendance in excess of 5,000 rods (most catch their limits).

I would recommend this property to anybody that wants a lovely quite holiday set in the country side The description, layout and facilities are 100 percent accurate. The property was spotless clean and very well maintained and the owners where lovely. Lots of places to visit with plenty of walks locally.
