This wonderful Bastide was built at the beginning of the 14thC. With later additions characterised by architecture of medieval origin uplifted by a décor inspired by the passage of the Romans and the Moors, the manoir offers an exceptional atmosphere. There are 14 rooms: salons, 5 bedrooms with different themes, dressing rooms and bathrooms. There is an indoor winter garden with a bougainvillea and many exotic plants, a Turquerie where you can relax in its cool thick white walls, watch TV or listen to music. There is a grand piano and, on the top of the Bastide, a tower with a library/salon where you can relax and admire the view. At the lower level there is a large Jacuzzi in a beautifully tiled room with double doors opening onto the front garden.You can enjoy your dinner in the dining room or eat on the terrace by the pool.

The environment is peaceful and inspiring, with cypresses and other Mediterranean vegetation framing the simple and graceful structure. On your doorstep you have the sea and beaches. There are plenty of nearby villages to visit including Sommieres and its Saturday morning market , Aigues Mortes, Saint-Martin, les Matelles, les Saintes-Maries de la Mer, Uzes, Anduze, Saint Guilhem le désert, etc... Small towns, festivals, sport and cultural events beckon for memorable day trips. Montpellier (15 miles), Nîmes (15 miles), Le Pont du Gard, Carcassonne are all within short driving distance. Long sandy beaches like Cap d'Agde are 25 miles away, medieval towns like Sommiéres within 6 miles and la Camargue (Aigues-Mortes) is 31 miles away. Some great wines are produced locally and visits with degustations can be organised, the most important being crus du Pic St Loup and Gres de Montpellier. There are golf courses, a bridge club and you can play tennis in the next village.

Notes: The rooms are on three levels, the lowest being partly underground with beautiful exposed stone walls and vaulted ceilings, cool in summer, warm in winter. Charming pool, 7x5m, lined with colourful Moroccan tiles, well lit at night. A dozen stately steps lead up to a wide hallway on the first level. Huge dining room with view of the pool, modern, fully equipped kitchen and highly decorated sitting room with turn-of-the century furnishings, Moroccan artifacts, grand piano. There is also a television room with satellite TV. Winter garden with hi-fi, synthesizer piano. Outside: The manoir has a magnificent gated entrance that opens up onto a grand courtyard. To the right is the pool area. You can enter the manoir from each side. The owner also has a big plot of land opposite in house, where children can play, fresh fruit can be picked. There is a see of furr and olive trees.
