Our lovely home, available in August, only is tucked away in the beautiful St Clément valley just a five minute drive from the Saracen hilltop village of La Garde Freinet. Approached through olive groves & vineyards & surrounded by chestnut & pine forests the setting offers peace & tranquillity yet is only a short distance from the stunning beaches & stylish glamour of the Golfe de St Tropez. The village, set in the heart of the Massif des Maures with its breathtaking scenery & wonderful climate, provides good local shops, restaurants, bars & a colourful twice weekly market.The comfortable farmhouse has a lovely fully tiled pool surrounded by a wide, sunny “plage” – perfect for soaking up the sun. The gardens offer secluded shady areas, a vine covered terrace - great for al fresco dining + three acres of fields & woodland in which to loose oneself with a glass of wine & a good book. Close to the beautiful beaches of the Golfe de St Tropez & set in the breathtaking scenery of the Massif des Maures La Garde Freinet is well placed for inland trips to ancient towns such as Aix en Provence, Avignon and Arles. A day spent in the dramatic Gorges du Verdon or boating on the nearby startling blue Lac St Croix is a must. Nearer home while away a morning in the pretty villages of Ramatuelle or Gassin, with its stunning coastal views. Countless local chateaux offer combined wine tastings & art exhibitions & during July and August many stage open air jazz concerts. Take a boat trip from Ste Maxime to St Tropez, each have colourful weekly markets where great bargains are to be had. Why not spend a day in Nice with its captivating old town, or a little further along the coast visit the famous principality of Monaco. On Sunday mornings enjoy browsing the weekly 'puce' market held outside picturesque Grimaud with its ruined castle.

A small window overlooks the garden and fields beyond. Bathroom 2 on the ground floor is light and airy with an attractive window overlooking the garden. It has a bath with shower, white tiled surrounds, toilet and vanity unit with single handbasin. There is a small dressing area. Bathoroom 3 on the ground floor offers a toilet, handbasin and has recently been fitted out with a new shower unit. It also houses the washing machine and laundry facilites.

  • The double aspect master bedroom on the upper floor has French windows leading onto an attractive balcony overlooking the pool and woodland beyond. Fitted cupboards offer lots of storage space. A separate shower room in situated adjacent. Bedroom 2 is mainly furnished with antiques and French windows lead onto the garden and pool area. There is a large armoire with hanging space and shelves. Bedroom 3 with double bed and windows overlooking the garden is light, pretty and furnished in pine. Again there's loads of storage.

Notes: The attractively furnished accommodation is arranged over two floors and comprises a well equipped farmhouse kitchen with vaulted ceiling. French windows open onto a sunny terrace which leads to a vine covered dining area. The pretty, double aspect dining room with balcony overlooks the garden and valley beyond. Two steps lead up to the main entrance hall and the drawing room beyond, from here French windows lead out onto a further sunny terrace. Next to the drawing room is the master bedroom with French windows opening out onto a small balcony overlooking the pool and woodlands. The adjacent shower room is a few feet away. A curved stone staircase leads down to bedrooms 2 & 3 which have access to the gardens and pool. Bathroom 2, the study area and bathroom 3/laundry are also situated on this level. Outside, the garden surrounding the pool is fenced. There is a further shady dining area adjacent to the pool. NOTE: The property is not suitable for children under 5 years of age.

A superb property in a tranquil location just five minutes from the beautiul village of La Garde Freinet.
We stayed there for a week with our young children as well as my parents and the farmhouse was entirely suitable and more than comfortable for all.
The property completely exceeded all our expectations and the description and photographs on the website could never do justice to the picture perfect scene that greets you on your arrival.
From bathing by the wonderful new large pool to eating outside every night under ripe vines trailing above, everything was just as you could imagine for a relaxing break away from it all.
The short drive to the charming (and very friendly) nearby village was a joy in itself winding through olive groves and vineyards.
The owner was on hand but not intrusive and clearly views customer service as an important priority.
This was a superb find and a wonderful property, which I would thoroughly recommend to anybody looking for that 'dreamed of' retreat in Provence.
