A newly refurbished traditional croft house situated at the heart of Achiltibuie. Looking across to the Summer Isles, this very well equipped cottage offers delightful accommodation in a most stunning and romantic holiday location. The cottage has full central heating, 2 bedrooms, 2 luxury bathrooms, wood burning stoves in the kitchen/dining room and the sitting room and a wonderful sun room to while away the days. Surrounded by hills, lochs, islands and beaches Achiltibuie is a popular holiday destination and a perfect base from which to explore the North West Highlands. Hill Walking, kayaking, birdwatching, mountain biking, sailing, fishing or taking the local cruise boat around the islands are just some of the activities to enjoy in the area. Alternatively, just come to relax and enjoy the tranquility of this extraordinary part of the highlands. Local restaurants include the nearby Summer Isles Hotel with one Michelin star, and two pubs serving excellent seafood.

Welcome Pack: For your arrival we supply the following; milk, tea, coffee, sugar, olive oil, salt, pepper, dishwasher tablets, toilet paper, soap, shampoo, logs for the fire and firelighters. Should you wish to pre-order supplies from the local stores, please get in touch and we can arrange this with you. It is worth noting that local shops are closed on Sundays. There is a huge Tesco in Inverness and a smaller one in Ullapool (25 miles) open 7 days a week. You may order newspapers to be collected at the stores.

Walks information: We supply a booklet of 25 tried and tested walks in the area. Local maps are supplied.

Dogs: We welcome dogs by arrangement. The village is a crofting community with many sheep roaming free. The garden is well fenced up to approx 4 feet high. There are many walks where dogs can run free, but through the village it is important to keep dogs on leads. We are sure your dogs don't sit on the sofas or beds but if you think they might do so please bring your own dog blankets to cover our furniture.

This cottage exceeded our expectations! The pictures definitely don't do it justice, it is immaculate inside and very comfortable. I can't think of anything I'd change, oh well if I was being really picky I would have liked a footstool to put my feet on in the evening!! The views are literally breathtaking, sitting in the conservatory over breakfast took a long time! We rode our bikes for miles down the single track roads and took the dog running on the beach every day. Well worth the long journey up here!

Cosy and snug in any weather

The owners, whom we have known for years when they owned and ran the award winning Summer Isles Hotel, are charming. The cottage is fitted out to that same high standard with the feel of the home of a family friend rather than a holiday let. The cottage is larger than the photographs had led us to expect with two full size reception rooms and two sizeable bedrooms as well as the sun lounge and kitchen. The weather in late September was, for once, awful but we were cosy and snug with efficient central heating and two log burning stoves - as well as an excellent selection of DVDs! Mark and Gerry have once again set the bar very high.

This cottage provided us with a wonderful base to explore the region. There were too many wonderful things to see and do in just one week. The cottage was perfect in every way. The furnishings and amenities are of the highest quality. The location and view are outstanding. The owners are helpful and charming. A home away from home in the Highlands.
