The closest town is Castellammare del Golfo (6 km), which offers a good variety of shops and a buzzing nightlife around its picturesque port. However, in the ancient fishing village of Scopello you can also find whatever you need and it is also a wonderful place to spend an evening with its alfresco dining and bars. Scopello is a great spot from which to explore the many interesting attractions nearby: Palermo, the vibrant capital of Sicily, is under an hour's drive away. Trapani, Castellammare del Golfo, the medieval village of Erice, Marsala, the Greek temples at Segesta, Selinunte and Agrigento are also easily reached. The Zingaro nature reserve is close by with its wonderful beaches and fantastic walks.

Winter in Scopello: Sicily has a mild climate and, therefore, can be visited all year round. Although Scopello is an ideal summer resort, it is very popular with walkers in the Spring, Autumn and Winter. The Zingaro nature reserve offers several walks at all levels as does the surrounding area.
