Tolo is a traditional Greek fishing village with a well developed tourist infrastructure thanks to its fine sandy beach and the natural beauty of the area. The sea is clear and clean (blue flag for cleanliness) with a sandy bottom, and is shallow for a good distance out to sea, making it safe for children. There are plenty of good tavernas, cafes and bars, a couple of internet cafes and shops offering all you'll need day to day. You probably won't want to leave the beach, but if you do there is plenty to see in the area. There are watersports (waterskiing, wakeboarding, pedaloes, boats for hire, diving schools) right on the beach. Further afield, a short drive away, are some of the best known archaeological sites in Greece (Mycenae, Tiryns, Epidavros, the Corinth Canal etc.) A cruise ship leaves every day from Tolo on a one day cruise to the nearby islands of Hydra and Spetses. The nearby town of Nafplio offers great shopping and cafe, and the magnificent 'Palamidi' castle.
