Photos and Description of this Pas-de-Calais holiday farmhouse A self-catering house. Sleeps 6 people. Beaches & Historic sights

Our house is situated just under an hour from Eurotunnel, and about 35 minutes from Le Touquet. We are down a quiet lane and the house and garden are completely secluded, apart from the cows in the field next to us. We are in between two hamlets, Avesnes and Herly. We have three bedrooms, all upstairs, one with a double bed, two with two singles, with the possibility of an additional single. The bathroom with bath and shower cubicle, and separate toilet are on the ground floor. There is a spacious lounge with CD player, TV/DVD/VIDEO player, well equipped kitchen with dishwasher & microwave, and a choice of two dining areas; one we use for breakfast, and one more formal. We have an open fire in the lounge, and wood burning stove in the dining room, with electric radiators throughout. Outside there are terraces to sit and relax on all round the house, with gas BBQ, garden furniture, sun loungers and parasols.

Nearest Airport: Le Touquet at 30 Kilometres
Nearest Train: Montreuil at 16 Kilometres
Nearest Beach: beach at 30.0 Kilometres
Car: necessary
Our house is situated just under an hour from Eurotunnel, and about 35 minutes from Le Touquet. Further afield, the small fortified town of Montreuil, is about 15 minutes drive away. There are many shops and good restaurants here, and a lovely walk all the way round the ramparts which surround Montreuil. There are really great beaches and water parks both at Le Touquet, and the Picardy coast, plus a theme park for the older kids at Berck, on the coast. For small children, there is another theme park called ‘Dennlys’, about twenty minutes away in the countryside towards St Omer. If you are interested in history, there is the V2 museum and bunker near St Omer, the Azincourt museum, and the first world war memorials between the towns of Arras and Amiens, all within an hour from the house. For keen golfers, our house is well within an hours drive from some very good courses, including Le Touquet, Hardelot, Fort Mahon, and St Omer.

We rented the fermette the week before Easter and we are still thinking about our break!!!
The house is much bigger than we imaged (I wish I was able to send our pictures) and it is kept extremely well. Downstairs you will find a well equipped kitchen, a lovely breakfast room, a beautiful dining room and a comfortable sitting room with a huge fireplace (which we used a lot as it was a little chilly in the evenings).
The car is a MUST as the cottage is tucked away in the open countryside.
We visited different places everyday all equally good and interesting (we have left some brochures). There are some markets during the week in the nearby Montreuille (to visit).
On the coast (only 20 mins away) we found the best fish ever!! Good choice of fish shops were you will find all sorts of fresh fish. Back to the fermette we sat outside as the weather was good there is a large table and chairs We used the gas fired BBQ to grill our fish and french sausages... merveilleux!!!

Although we didn't see the owners we found them always available and very helpful especially when it came to find the fermette!!!
A big thank you to Yvonne and Chris you made our break SUPERB!!

We had a lovely week here. It was clean and comfortable, out of the way as it said which was great. The property was bigger than we imagined with a large garden.
It is ideal if you want to get away from the hastles of English life, and yet is within easy reach of lots to do.
Take your books and dvd`s and chill out, would really recommend it.
