This attractive, modern villa provides simply furnished and comfortable accommodation for up to five people. It is one of five detached properties set by themselves on a hillside in the beautiful and unspoilt south of Crete with stunning sea and mountain views. The location is secluded, quiet and peaceful – although you will find a good range of beaches, tavernas, cafes and shops within easy reach. Those who just want to relax could happily spend most of their holiday looking at the sea views from the wrap-round terrace (in the heat of the day you will find an area shaded by a bougainvillea at the rear) or the roof terrace on comfortable cane furniture, sun loungers or even a hammock! This villa is equally suitable for a romantic retreat, a family beach holiday or as a base for exploring the stunning coastal and mountain scenery of Southern Crete.

The villa is located between the traditional village of Kamilari and the small laid-back beach resort of Kalamaki in South Crete. You will find a good range of tavernas, cafes and shops within easy reach of the villa, while the large sandy beach of Kalamaki is about 25 minutes walk or a short drive away. The spectacular beach of Kommos is only 10 minutes drive from the property, while there are several more beaches within 15 - 45 minutes drive. For those wanting a change of pace, including a greater range of shops, the lively resorts of Matala and Agia Galini are a short drive away. You can stop on your way to Matala to enjoy a leisurely meal or drink at tavernas perched on a clifftop with stunning panoramic views of the beaches of Kiommos and Kalamaki, the island of Paxmidia and the beautiful blue bay. The views at sunset are outstanding. The spectacularly situated historical sites of Faestos, Kommos and Agia Triada are a short distance from the villa.

Further sleeping accommodation is provided by a sofa-bed in the lounge area. This is exceptionally easy to use, and has a fully-sprung mattress suitable for either an adult or a child. You can also pull a curtain across this area for additional privacy. You will find fresh linen on the beds when you arrive, together with a supply of sheets and pillowcases to change whenever you wish.

Local Contacts: The villa is looked after by a very helpful Greek couple, Diamante and Alexander, who own the neighbouring houses and the Hotel Alexander on the beach. As well as Greek, they both speak fluent German, while Diamante also speaks English. You are welcome to use the sunbeds in front of the hotel (these are free), which is situated on a particularly quiet part of the beach where some shade is provided by trees, should you wish. You are also welcome to connect your laptop to the hotel wireless broadband free of charge.
