The Perfect Family Holiday

Our holiday in France was about to begin.Bringing this wonderful house to life could not have been simpler, thanks to the Pat and Mark's instructions. Wooden shutters open, we soon realised what a wonderful place this was. The large, well equipped traditional French kitchen was the "hub" of the house; the French doors at the rear of the kitchen led out onto a child's paradise and every parents dream, a safe, well equipped spacious garden, full of children's toys and games which were stored in an old "bakery" stone building in the corner of the garden. While the children played the adults could relax and enjoy the local "vino" on the patio, or even barbecue. From the kitchen and the garden you could enter the utility room where the washing machine and ground floor walk in shower was-just perfect for your return from the fabulous sandy beach just across the street. Finally on the ground floor is the lounge, a perfect place to rest those weary legs! With two large settees you can enjoy one of the many books - look out for the "red" file there is a wealth of information about the area; places to visit, places to eat, restaurants, bus timetables, local tides, market days, supermarket times, cinemas, swimming pools, etc. Well done to Pat & Mark, a brilliant idea. You may just want to listen to the soft music from the music system from either your own or the CD's here. You can even watch T.V. French of course or play one of the many games stored in the cupboard. The wooden spiral staircase of the lounge leads to the first floor where you will find a large, double "Master" bedroom, with French furnishings, a large twin bedded room and a family bathroom, with bath and shower. Another flight of stairs leads to a second floor, a loft conversion and my favourite, very large double bedroom, another twin bedded room and a washroom with washbasin and toilet. From the rear windows on both floors, views across the French countryside are breathtaking! Our mornings began about 8.30am, with all the other villagers around the local bread van who delivered fresh French bread on a daily basis-This really is French!
The local golden, sandy beach, St Vaast, it's beautiful harbour, colourful market, restaurants and lovely shops, Barfleur and it's harbour, the local walks, characteristic villages, brilliant sunshine and the convenience of location for visits further afield, eg; Landing Beaches and Pegasus Bridge make this a perfect choice. Thanks to Pat, Mark - we will be back!!
