Le Grau d'Agde:
Le Grau d'Agde is a quiet seaside and fishing village and the locals boast they have over 300 days sunshine per year. The essential shops are open all year - 2 bakers, 2 mini markets, 2 cash points, 2 newsagents - selling newspapers in most languages - Butchers, fishmongers, chemist & hardware store. Other seasonal shops, include beach & seaside goods, fishing equip, gifts, clothes & shoes. From the village quay you can take sea, river or canal sightseeing trips, sea fishing trips and jet skiing. There are several bars and restaurants and two ice cream bars. Restaurants along the river front have tables inside (air-conditioned) or outside on pontoons over the water. Restaurants on the sea front have tables inside or outside under shade or beachfront tables - a great place to watch the children play on the beach while you eat your meal in peace!
The Apartment location:
The apartment is next to a small hotel/restaurant, and above a pizzeria/creperie - which may well make the kitchen redundant! It is directly facing the beach & sea and in 2 minutes walk to the village shops you'll find just about everything you could need. Throughout the year the sea provides a fantastic, daily changing backdrop, it's an ideal place for relaxing in the sunshine, walking along the beach or settling down with a good bottle of wine to watch the sunset.
In July and August evening entertainment is available in nearby restaurants or bars - usually a live band, usually at weekends. Generally all is quiet again by midnight - no flashing lights and music thumping out from bars and restaurants until the small hours! The local council put on an excellent weekly firework display that you can watch from the comfort of the balcony.
