Jonzac a tourist and thermal resort.:
Strolling through the streets with their fine facades or along the river banks,Jonzac's rich past comes to life.Its heritage is symbolised by the imposing Chateau (listed monument) built on the rock. In July and August the Tourist Office gives free guided tours of the building in English every Wednesday at 4pm. Discover the old quarters in the centre of town:the Tourist Office runs a tour in English of the medieval alleys,the Baltard-style covered market,the Romanesque church,xvc town gate,the stone bridge and ancient convert.Why not take a boat trip along the river or visit the restored working windmill.Markets on Tuesday,Friday and Sunday mornings
(restored covered market, Baltard style).Theire are many distilleries around the area selling Pineau- Connac-Local
wine.The office of tourism can supply addresses of market gardeners, cheese makers and vintners of Cognac, Pineau and local wine on request.The Tourist Office is in the town centre next to the Chateau.

The aqua centre 'Les Antilles' ( 10,000m2 - open all the year round) is one of the Charente-Maritime's magor attractions.Everything is there among the exotic vegetation: a large wave pool, waterfall, a 60- metre chute, games for children, aqua- fitness,a tropical glasshouse, Caribbean beach huts. At the Heurtebise Leisure park you'll find picnic areas, a restaurant, children playground, bathing lake,climbing wall, archery sailing.In summer it makes an appealing alternative to the traditional seaside.The thermal spa, housed in the caves of Heurtebise, treats rheumatological and respiratory problems.Its health and fitness programmes are open to the general public.
