Convenient - friendly owners - nice little garden

A great apartment - nice and sunny; nicely decorated with good bathrooms. Maria and Thomas were very friendly and trusting and had stocked the apartment very well - sugar, salt, oil, vinegar, apron, sandwich toaster, large fridge and freezer etc .. even a bottle of wine, a cold beer and a bottle of water ... everything you might need!
The pretty little garden was very welcome for meals and just relaxing.
Free parking right outside (Pio VIII is a quiet cul-de-sac with no vehicle access from the north end) was very welcome (and unusual for Rome) - Thomas had even waited with his car to reserve our space!
The free WiFi internet access worked well and there were a few DVDs to watch.
The apartment is located 20 minutes walk from Piazza San Pietro and 15 minutes from the Vatican Museum/Sistine Chapel queue (we recommend one of you gets up and queues from about 7.30am). There are a few restaurants about 15-20 minutes away.
less than 10 minutes from the 'Valle Aurelia' Metro stop - quick journey to all major sights - and bus stop at end of road.
Nearest food shop (with bread, wine, delicatessen counter and other basic foodstuffs) was a few paces away at the end of the road and the nearest supermarket was 10 minutes walk (down the steps beside the big main road and UNDER the Ducati[?] shop)
PS - if you're driving here, probably best to follow signs to 'Aurelia' (we didn't see any signs to 'Vatican City'), be aware of the complex one-way systems, use GPS or a Google map ... and keep calm! Approach via Via Aurelia, which you CAN'T get directly onto from Anastasio II.
PPS - the garden doesn't have a tennis court!
