A charming 150 year old villa, totally refurbished in a modern elegant style. Spacious accommodation for 10 people and facilities to match. Located within a ten minute walk of an unspoilt medieval village. It has an ample sized shaded outside eating area with large barbecue, patio, summer kitchen. 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 2 separate WCs. Both lounges and kitchen have French windows onto south facing terrace. Light and airy, beautifully furnished with large garden, including lavander terrace. The south facing house is in excellent condition throughout and has been sympathetically refurbished to a high standard. The house was originally the local tax collectors office for Tourrettes sur loup (cite des violets) and dates back to around 1850. There are stunning views of the Cote d’Azur from every room in the house stretching from Nice to the Estoril. Photos cannot do this justice. The swimming pool is non chlorinated, 11x4m with outdoor hot and cold shower. Closed parking for 4-5 cars

La Perception villa is within easy walking distance of the dramatic perched medieval village of Tourrettes sur loup (cite des violets) with stunning views of the countryside down to the sea. Shops, bars, restaurants, galleries, cafes as well as butchers, bakers and greengrocers are all within walking distance. Perfect for those who want to forget their cars once at the villa. The villa has a non-chlorinated pool and there are tennis courts at 500 metres. Tourism has not submerged the local character of the village in Tourrettes sur loup. There are also picturesque villages such as Vence at 7 kms, St Paul de Vence 9 kms, Grasse, Antibes are all a short driving distance away. Nice airport is around half an hour. The nearest beach is 10 kms. Golf at 15 kms. The largest Marine Park in Europe is situated in nearby Biot (famous for its glass blowing) and a beautiful little town. Ski resorts within 40 kms. Walking, tennis, cycling, paragliding, horse riding all within easy reach.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Rentals in high season are on a weekly basis and the changeover day is Saturday. Bookings for other seasons are fairly flexible and the owner should be contacted. A security deposit is requested for all rentals. Quality linen and towels are included in the cost. Cleaning is also included in the rental up to 10 hours and anything over will be deducted from the security deposit as will any breakages or repairs. The owner may accept other currencies if specifically agreed in advance. WI Fi and broadband included and local calls are free of charge. Heating is not included in the price from October to May.

Notes: Refurbishment to this house has been done in a modern elegant style. The tiled ground floor has underfloor heating. There is a TV room as well as a very spacious light and airy lounge. Both rooms have wood burning stoves. The office area has broadband and there is also WI Fi, together with DVD player, i-pod speakers, CD player. There is a separate utility room with washing machine, spin dryer and bottle fridge. Ironing board and iron plus dryer. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances, US style fridge with ice maker and water cooler, built in dishwasher, coffee maker, microwave, range cooker, toaster. Large outside BBQ area with summer kitchen in a shaded large patio area with stunning panoramic views. Perfect for summer eating. Excellent local French chef available at reasonable rates , baby sitting and extra cleaning also available on request.

Spacious and well-appointed in a great location

This is a very spacious, well-appointed house in a great location right beside the village of Tourettes. You can even manage without a car, although one would be useful for larger shopping expeditions and other trips. The garden is divided into terraces with a wonderful view from the top terrace over the hills and down to the Mediterranean. The middle terrace is planted with lavender and thyme and smells divine in the evening. The bottom terrace houses a nice swimming-pool and comfortable loungers and parasols. There are two very good small grocery stores in the village with excellent cheeses in the one, and fresh fruit and vegetables in both. The children ran up in the morning to buy fresh bread and pains au chocolat from the two bakeries. There are also two good butcher shops. In fact, if like me you detest supermarkets, you can find almost everything you need in the village. We used the municipal tennis courts just beind the house and there is also a football pitch right behind. This house is in a village and there are neighbours around and the usual noise you can expect to have with people living around you, so if you want total seclusion and absolutely no other voices , then you may prefer something more rural. You should also take some DVDs for the children as there was no childen's channel on the television. We ate at the Café du Midi in the village square many times - it was great value. Otherwise we barbecued most evenings. All in all, a very comfortable house in a great location.
