This is a large charming house, barn and out buildings which are rented exclusively. Perfect for summer holidays but equally cosy in winter with huge open fires, wood burning stoves and heating. The property is well equipped for culinary enthusiasts. Located in a village with both tourist information and a bakery the house is private with a walled garden and secluded garden orchard and field to the rear. The large kitchen The rooms are large in proportion light and airy. Christy's towels and linen are provided. The large terrace is located at the rear of the property and the pergola is covered in flowers, the adjoining bbq area is build in and covered. The pool is above ground and 15ft in diameter. The house enjoys excellent access to all the main attractions: pui de fou - Ile de re - mervant forset and lake - La Rochelle,(airport is 45 min by car) 120km of sandy white beaches care 40 min.

With in easy reach of a choice of 120 km unspoiled sandy white beaches, Historic town of Fontenay, and the picturesque artists village of Vouvant. The ancient Port of la Rochelle, is 45 min, with great restaurants on the harbour, its both charming and sophisticated. Fashionable, characterful and pretty Ille de Re is a fantastic day trip. Mervent forest offers walking, mountain biking, sailing and many other activities. Tourist information is available in the village. There are good local Saturday markets. Great walking and biking straight from the door, through acres of sunflower fields. Relax punting your way through Venice Vert, with its abundance of wildlife and huge network of canals. Great seafood. Sailing - the vendee classic round the world yacht race leaves from Le Sable de Lonne reached in 50 minutes. 45 minutes to poui de fou.

  • The bathroom is located on the first floor adjacent to the bedrooms. The large shower room with cubicle shower, is located downstairs, with easy access to the garden for summer showering. There is a seperate toilet beside the downstairs shower room.

  • The bedrooms are all furnished stylishly to an extremely high standard. All are large, light and airy with long French windows. Crisp white linen and large quality towels. Hair dryer. Full length mirror. Wardrobe and bedside tables. All the bedrooms and bathroom lie off a spacious light hall way. The Grange is an additional space with a huge 80 sqm tiled floor which is great for indoor games. There is also a large additional family room on the first floor, with a double, two single beds. Additional price on request. Bedroom 3 is ideal for children who enjoy sharing and can sleep up to 5 with an additional pull out bed. High chair and cot are available.

Digital projector can be made available on request to play DVD's through the stereo to provide a surround sound cinema in the lounge. Wireless internet access is available at the local tourist information office in the village. iPod docking. Large purpose built covered BBQ area with a large terrace and table seating up to 10. Large field, orchard and pretty garden, with herbs, vegetables, rose garden along side the house, swings, badminton, children's play den in the old pigsty, putting, football goals. Toy box. High chair. Stair gate. Raised 15 ft circular pool approx 1.30 m deep.

The setting in a rural village is wonderfull.: In the summer time the fields surrounding the village are covered in sunflowers. The locals are friendly and the house is unbelievably well placed to easily visit such a wide rang of attractions, sporting, historic, special interest, geographic, child friendly, and historic. There local services are good. The village has a bread shop and tabac, small local crepery, and tourist information. There is a large supermarket 15 mins drive in Fontenay where there is also fuel, a saturday market and an excellent hospital. If you are into the good life you can enjoy our vegetable patch, compost and recycling. Change over days are Saturday. We can arrange as additional clean on Tuesdays for a small extra charge. We can arrange a small welcome food package on request.
