Murcia city is 20 minutes drive away with the magnificent cathedral, theatres, museums, art galleries, shops and it's plazas, cafes and restaurants are well worth a visit.
Mula is also 20 minutes drive and has a market on Saturdays which is near to the old castle ruins.
Cartegena is an old sea port full of fine buildings, museums, roman ruins, castle ruins, and an ocean liner promenade and marina. Nearer to home is the typical Spanish village of Campos del Rio, it has it's market on Wednesday mornings, and also has tapas bars and restaurants. In July it holds a religious festival, in fact through out the summer the surrounding villages hold their festivals at various times, and all are invited.
There are numerous golf courses within easy driving distance from the villa, Altoreal (Dave Thomas design) and La Torre, El Valle (Jack Nickolas design) to mention a few.
