Villa il Castellaccio, a rural complex in the heart of the Chianti area, has an independent VILLA ( 5 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms! Sleeps 10, plus possibility for 2 extra beds, with its own private pool and garden) and also APARTMENTS( for 4-6 people, recently restored with access to the main pool and gardens). All are self catering. Above the main gardens, you can find an C11th church and the ruins of the original Castle, destroyed in the C14th strife between the Guelfs and Ghibellines. The main buildings, overlooking vineyards and forests, were restored in the 2nd half of the C19th. The surrounding area of Chianti is uniquely beautiful, great for exploring and eating out, rich in Arts & Crafts and of course Wine! We are also central for the major cities of Tuscany; Florence, Siena, S.Gimignano and Arezzo, but after an exhilarating day out it's great to get back to the friendly atmosphere & beautiful setting of Villa il Castellaccio.We also do Destination Weddings..ask for more info!!

The rural complex of Villa il Castellaccio, once a fully working farm, is set in a beautiful panoramic position in the heart of Chianti, between Florence, Siena and Arezzo (30-40 km). The apartments have all recently been reconstructed from the original farm buildings and furnished in style and comfort with all mod-cons .They all have their own entrances on different sides of the complex giving each a sense of privacy. They share a big terrace with gardens and the main swimming-pool Castellaccio 1 sleeps 5 and contains : a dining room with fireplace, a well equipped kitchen , 2 bathrooms with showers, 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom, 1 single bedroom. This apartment is on the 1st floor and is reached by an external stairway. It is very luminous and has super views but does not have an immediate outside eating area though we have provided a private terrace with dining facilities in the courtyard below.

The Chianti area is small but stunningly beautiful with medieval towns, castles, cellars for wine-tasting, eating places & shops for local specialties and wares, wildlife parks.There is always something going on; exhibitions, folk festivals (called Sagre), gastronomic events, antique fairs and colourful markets .As we are central you can reach most places and events in minimum 5 to max.40 mins Nearby are the main cities of Tuscany; Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Arezzo (30-40 km), Lucca, Pisa, Volterra (60-80 km) with their sights, museums, shops etc. Not to forget also the fashion outlet The Mall at the nearby town of Figline only 8km from where you can also get to Florence in 20 mins by train (we supply timetables) In a day you can even reach the coast for places like Le Cinque Terre and romantic Porto Venere . The nearest villages for food stores and restaurants are Lucolena and Dudda,1km away away .
