A brand new, superbly kitted out apartment within a village location. Stunning panoramic views of the Ria Formosa, with beaches, shops and restaurants close at hand. If your ideal is to be away from the normal crowded fronts of the Algarve and to enjoy a more cultural location that still has all the amenities, then this is the place for you. Santa Luzia is very relaxing place to be, with no high rise or busy streets, this working fishing village is still very much as it has been for centuries but now made accessible by the recent addition of modern low rise apartments. Tavira is just 2km away with its Moorish old town and Venetian looks with plenty more bars, shops and restaurants. The apartment's terrace is a massive 100sq metres plus and takes the the sun all day long, so you can unwind, and use the communal pool at your leisure. Serviced with a brick BBQ, loungers chairs and table for the complete holiday feel as you watch panoramic views of the sunset over a chilled drink or three!

The apartment is located in the working fishing village of Santa Luzia, approximately 5 minutes drive away from Tavira. The village is very quiet and has a relaxed feel to it. There are a number of reasonably priced restaurants serving a mixture of fresh fish dishes alongside authentic Portuguese dishes. Within the village there are a number of convenient shops for the daily requirements while in Tavira there are larger supermarkets for the bigger purchases and a wider range of products. Tavira also homes a picturesque river side walk way with garden area and historic buildings and bridge.

Additional information about rental rates

  • This apartment is family owned and not on the back of a business empire so we do request a deposit for breakages of £100 returnable upon your return once the apartment has been cleaned. A securing deposit to secure the weeks you request of half the amount due straight away and balance 4 weeks before departure. At the time of paying the balance we ask for the breakages deposit.
    I have a paypal account and am happy to take cheque by post. Collection and return to Faro airport can be arranged at the total extra cost of 80 Euros paid on arrival. We will repay the deposit for breakages of £100 within a week of your return subject to confirmation from the managing agents exit report.

Notes: Further details indoors: This beautiful apartment is decorated to a modern standard. The lounge/diner is set away from the bedrooms and has 2 sofas one being the sofa bed. The flat wide screen TV with cable connection with Portuguese and some English channels has a DVD/CD player attached. It will also take play stations. From the time you reach the appartment you can relax. Put the car in the underground car park and take your cases by lift to the 2nd floor. This is the tallest you can build in the area in front and one story more behind. Walk along to the outside gate then the front door and take in the view. The apartment has large sliding doors that look out over the Ria Famosa...just stunning!. Further details outdoors: The terrace has a brick built BBQ with all you need to grill on it. Complemented by 4 recliner chairs two straight back chairs, a large table and 4 white sun loungers with cushions. The terrace is probably bigger than the apartment so you can enjoy the sun all day.

Excellent apartment for perfect getaway.

Stayed in this apartment in August. The apartment itself is first class and the owner has put a lot of care and attention into it and it shows. The balcony is the biggest one we have ever encountered and is well kitted out with sunbeds and table/chairs. Everything required for a relaxing holiday is provided. Santa Luzia is a lovely little village with plenty of really good restaurants and bars. The nearest beach is by speedboat from the pier in the village (€2.50 return) or you can stroll/cycle to pedras and cross the pontoon bridge and take the little train from there ( or just keep walking). we went to the beach both ways and enjoyed both. There is a frequent bus service to Tavira from the seafront, but no late service however taxis are cheap. Have absolutely no problem recommending this property for the perfect getaway.

Holiday Stay - August 2009

A modern, clean, well appointed apartment situated in a quiet fishing village but with a car close enough to all amenities. Just a 10 minute drive to Tavira where there are all the shops and supermarkets you need. A 5 minute drive takes you to Barril beach where you can walk or take a train to a beautiful sandy beach.
The apartment was well equiped for a comfortable stay. My favourite part of the apartment had to be the terrace which had sun all day long. Even in August there was a pleasant breeze. The BBQ was great for family meals. The kids loved the pool which they had to themselves most of the time. The underground car park with allocated space meant there was never a problem leaving the car. The complex was very secure for the children with locked gates throughout.
There is a small area, mentioned in the previous review that you can see from the terrace that is not yet finished but due to all the other benefits you tended not to notice this after a few days.
The agents met us on arrival and departure and were available at all times in case of any problems.
We can certainly recommend this to any families wanting a relaxed holiday.

Beautiful Apartment in quiet setting

If you are after a home from home holiday with all the mod cons you are used to then this is the ideal holiday property. A tastefuly decorated apartment which is maintained to a high standard. A very accurate description on the web site as to what to expect. We holidayed with two 6 year old boys who loved the size of the balcony which enabled them to play very happily for hours on end with there toys - once they were in bed the balcony become a retreat for us adults, to just chill outside in the warm evenings. All the information we gathered prior to our trip was spot on and enabled us to find our way around very quickly. I would recommend this property to families who like are looking for a relaxing holiday. A secure location that requires entry keys to obtain entrance into the facilities was a major advanatage for us - the boys were very safe if they wanted to go back up to the apartment on there own to get more toys for the swimming pool. I have already recommended this apartment to many friends and we would consider a return visit next year as this was one of the most enjoyable holidays we have had in a long time. - At last an apartment whos descriptions matched what we actually got!!

Modern apartement with wonderful terrace

The apartment itself is modern and exellent, situated on roof with a huge terrace facing three directions = sun from dawn until night. It admits a comfortable holiday in perfect location. We were two couples with access to a car - which was great for sightseeing, shopping, visits at friends and common convenience. Everything we needed was there, and we didn´t need to bother the lovely "backup landlords" couple at all. This was the first week in May when the weather wasn´t yet too hot and we were lucky to see the green, flowerish surroundings and still had a slight tan when back in Stockholm. We relaxed and wined and dined and barbequed, having a good time.
Not so good: The water in the pool was not tempered (which have been nice since you can not swim in the ice cold Atlantic see, but a shower is also OK). Different kees to gates and doors (and more or less broken locks) made the in- and outpassing somewhat time consuming. The whole block seemed empty of other people, and that plus the untided, unbuilt plot we couldn´t avoid looking at from the terrace, made it kind of surrealistic at times - but hopefully the tourist season will begin soon and these things will be corrected. That´s why we certainly can recommend this beautiful appartment to other happy visitors in St Luzia.
