Challand-Saint-Victor is located in the Ayas Valley (one of the 11 lateral valleys in Aosta Valley), which culminates in Monte Rosa, the second highest mountain in Europe. The village itself has three restaurants, a cafe, a post office, a food store, and a convenience store, all within walking distance. In Verrés, four kilometers away, there are supermarkets, many small stores (butcher, baker, etc.) and an outdoor food market every Monday morning. Champoluc, a ski resort and start-off point for mountain climbing, is 30 minutes from the villa. Other attractions within Aosta Valley include Cervinia (Matterhorn and ski resort), Aosta (roman ruins), Issogne and Fenis medieval castles, Courmayeur (Mont Blanc), and the Gran Paradiso and Mt. Avic National Parks. Day trips can easily be made to the Italian Lake district, Piedmont wine-growing area (Barolo, Barbaresco) or Turin.
