These lovely apartments, each sleeping 4 persons, are located in a restored convent and are just minutes walk from the banks of the River Shannon at Portumna. The separate lobby (great for leaving the sports equipment) area leads into the bright lounge/dining room which has comfortable leather seating just perfect for a well deserved restful evening after an active day spent around the fantastic River Shannon. The kitchen has plenty of space, is modern and very well designed and comes equipped with all mod cons. As well as a generous counter with high stools for a quick bite, there is also a separate dining area for that relaxing evening dinner. The two spacious bedrooms are beautifully decorated, with plenty of wardrobe space and natural light. The master bedroom has an en-suite shower room. The roomy main bathroom is well laid out with bath/shower etc. There is also plenty of parking just outside the door.

Portumna is located on the shores of Lough Derg and the river Shannon and close to the borders of County Tipperary. The majestic River Shannon is just down the road from the apartments where Emerald Star Cabin Cruisers have their base. Portumna is 2.5 hours from Dublin and just 1 hour from the lovely Galway city. There is lots to do around the area especially water sporting activities and fly fishing (very popular during the month of May). There is a very scenic forest with an abundance of trails for the walker. The gorgeous lakeside village of Terryglass is just 10 minutes drive away. For the Golfer, Portumna Golf Club has a lovely parkland course and is priced well. There are lots of bars and restaurants all catering for the tourist in the area. There is a swimming pool in the nearby Shannon Oaks Hotel as well as gym and tennis facilities. Portumna Castle and Gardens are another interesting place to visit.
