La Fattoria la Scheggia, a typical example of Grand-Ducal architecture, is a small rural hamlet dating back to the 15th century that was completely restored in the ‘80s under the Association of Historical Dwellings of Tuscany. The farmhouse is surrounded by a large garden. The restoration of the building was carried out in observance of the simplicity of the old rural dwellings built with stone, terracotta tiles and chestnut beams. The landscape has remained unchanged for centuries. Broad conifers and woods of oak and chestnut trees are scattered with archaeological remains dating back to Etruscan, Roman and Lombard times. It is a crossroads that for centuries was traveled by merchants, troops, shepherds and pilgrims which climbed these paths to reach the places of contemplation kitchen. l. Very good trattorias nearby. Anghiari, the nearest medieval town, 6 km. Arezzo, Sansepolcro, Cortona, Assisi.
