This well equipped, light and airy self catering cottage overlooking the waterways of Marina da Gama provides a wonderful base for sightseeing especially along the Cape Point Route. It has a fully equipped kitchen, a security system and safe parking. The garden and pool adds to the pleasure. After a day of sightseeing have a drink on the deck overlooking the water and watch the bird life and canoes and pedalos passing. Then choose from a variety of good restaurants nearby.

Marina da Gama's waterways are part of the Zandvlei Wetlands Nature Reserve overlooked by the mountains of the Table Mountain range, but only 1 km from the sandy beaches of Muizenberg on the False Bay coastline. From there the coastal route to Cape Point passes the coffee shops and restaurants of trendy Kalk Bay,the sandy beaches of Fishoek, historic Simonstown and the penguins at Boulders Beach. July-November sees the arrival of the Southern Right Whales and wonderful sightings are possible from the coastline. Excellent golf courses, the Constantia Wine Route and upmarket shopping centre are within a 10-15 minute drive. Cape Town centre, Table Mountain cableway and the Waterfront are easily reached by road.

We have just had 2 very relaxing weeks in this cottage. It is in a very peaceful (apart from the geese which are everywhere!), beautiful area but not too far away from all the sights of Cape Town, in fact it was an ideal base especially if you dont want to be in the centre of a city. It is about 1/2 mile from the local beach. All ameneties are within a very short distance. The accomodation is exactly as described, clean and tidy.The owners made us feel very welcome and were a good source of local information.
We would recommend this cottage to anyone. It was real value for money.
