Photos and Description of this Roses holiday villa Mas Marnic sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms - 2 bathroom. 5 minutes drive to the beaches

We bought 'Mas Marnic' because we loved its setting, up in the mountain foothills with views over the Bay of Roses in northern Catalonia. The villa is adjacent to an old Roman pathway which winds its way up the Serra de Rodes Mountains where the Pyrenees meet the Mediterranean. The outlook is uninterrupted from the hills in the East, over the Bay to the South and back to the Pyrenees in the West. Local English builders completed refurbishments for us with a new fully fitted Habemat kitchen incorporating quartz worktops and built-in appliances, new en-suite shower room and family bathroom, and new double glazed windows throughout. There are air-conditioning units in the bedrooms and the villa is centrally heated for the cooler months. Equipment includes TV, DVD and HI-Fi. All the furnishings were new for 2007. Outside is a pool and large terrace area for sunbathing and admiring the views, together with a covered and sheltered dining area and BBQ.

Nearest Airport: Girona at 40 Kilometres
Nearest Train: Perpignan at 60 Kilometres
Nearest Motorway: AP7 Jctn 3 at 15 Kilometres

Car: necessary
Long, clean beaches in Roses are some 5 minutes drive away and those in Empuriabrava are about 10 minutes drive. Local attractions include the largest Sky Diving Centre in Europe, a Go Kart circuit and large water park. Roses maintains its old narrow back streets for shopping and many local restaurants offering excellent quality and value. There are historical sites worthy of visits including the mediaeval towns of Castello d'Empuries and Perelada. The Salvador Dali museum is some 20k away in Figures and a similar distance in the opposite direction takes you to Cadaques, a beautiful little fishing village where Dali lived. Peralada Golf Club is about 10 minutes drive away and open all year:- 18 holes 5990 metres, 9 pitch and putt holes, driving range. It is for players of any standard and is surrounded by a prestigious residential development, but with wonderful views to the Pyrenees.

  • A non-returnable booking deposit of 33.3% is required to confirm the holiday, the balance payable 60 days prior to the start date.

    Whilst we are sure our clients will want to take good care of our Spanish home, we do ask for a security deposit of £500 or 500 euro, fully refundable less the cost for any damage or breakages..
  • Parties of more than 3 adults must not be of the same sex unless from the same family.

    There is a laundry and cleaning charge of 180 euros per stay payable locally.

Notes: IMPORTANT NOTE: The swimming pool has no shallow end and is a constant depth of some 2m. It is therefore not suitable for young children or non-swimmers and extreme care should be taken by all visitors. The swimming pool is 9m x 4.4m narrowing to 3.2m and has lights set in the side for that night time dip. The private and sheltered terrace is equipped with sun beds, cold shower and ample lighting. There is a covered outside dining space on the terrace leading off the living room for those 'al fresco' suppers, with a built in barbecue. Once the 5 entrance steps have been negotiated, all the accommodation and pool are on one level.
