One complete side of the apartment, where the balcony, kitchen and living room are, overlooks the Andlau River. Beamed ceilings add to the charm. There are two bedrooms, an eat-in kitchen, a living room with a bed sofa and a separate bathroom and toilet. Out the bathroom window you can see one of the two castles within walking distance.

Location: Andlau in France

Nearest Airport: Strasbourg at 30 Kilometres
Nearest Train: Barr at 4 Kilometres
The village itself is small but has all facilities (doctor, dentist, grocery, hairdresser, church etc) and is literally surrounded by vineyards, all at the foothills of the Vosges. There is a market twice a week. In fact, Andlau is considered one of the prettiest villages in the region! It is on the 'route de vin' with three Grand Cru wines produced in our village alone. There are 21 Michelin starred restaurants within short driving distance and lots of good walking or hiking trails. And, of course, Strasbourg is always worth exploring. Germany and Switzerland are less than an hour away. Various activities for children are nearby, including Europa Park, Monkey Mountain and medieval castles and forts. Andlau is only 4 km from a main highway which leads to all locations, either north or south, so one could fly into France, Germany or Switzerland since these airports are easily accessed.

Andlau Apartment.

This is a wonderful 2-bedroom apartment in a small village about 40 km south of Strasbourg in Alsace-Lorraine. The building is a converted medieval mill. There is one parking space inside the garage, with public parking down the road. A car is necessary for shopping, sightseeing, and to get to the train in the next town, Barr. Grocery shopping is very good in Andlau and Barr. It is a walk-up to the 1st floor from the ground floor parking. There are two-bedrooms, one with a T.V. with satelite connections, one bath with a washer and dryer, and a separate toilet room. The living room is a comfortable size with a sofa that opens into a comfortable double bed. Seating in the living room is very comfortable. Two windows overlook the river and water-falls, as does a small balcony off the combination kitchen and eating area. The views are spectacular from every window. Andlau has a post office and several very good restaurants. The apartment is fully furnished with everything to make your visit very pleasant. We were very comfortable there, and felt right at home.
