Beaucourt is situated in the vineyard village of Auriolles. Overlooking the richly varied countryside of Haut Entre Deux Mers the villa commands views over the vineyard-clad hills, wood and chateaux of one of the unspoiled regions of Aquitaine. You are just two kilometres from the shops, banks and bar restaurant of Pellegrue- one of the mediaeval ‘bastide’ towns which characterise the region – there is a Wednesday morning market. Neighbouring lakeside beaches include Lac De La Cadie where there are watersports, a café/restaurant, swimming and fishing. Places of major interest within easy reach include Sainte Foy La Grande with its celebrated Saturday morning market, Bergerac – gateway to the touring possibilities of La Dordogne, Duras with its imposing chateau, historic Saint Emilion – home of fine wine, Castillon-la-Bataille – setting for the spectacular re-enactment of the final battle of the Hundred Years War.

Notes: Beaucourt is a delightful holiday home offering a high standard of well-furnished accommodation for four persons. The villa is approached through a palm tree crowned courtyard which sets the tone for this lovely property. Ornamental gardens which surround the courtyard provide welcome relief from the sun. There is a barbecue and for the energetic boules and swing ball. Linking the villa to the ten by four metre swimming pool is a unique feature – the decorative roofed trellis screen with glazed panels looking out over the vineyard. The screen also shades dessert grapes and ensures that the pool conforms with safety requirements. There are terraces with sun beds and umbrellas and a ‘cuisine d e’te with bar area. Take a cold drink from the fridge or what about plugging in the kettle for a nice cup of tea? The villa’s entrance is shaded by a long, tile veranda – ideal for aperitifs and ‘al fresco’ dining. The entrance hall gives access to a handsomely furnished sitting & dining area.

Surrounding Area: Castillon-La-Bataille was the site of the final battle of the Hundred Years War (1483). The annual re-enactment of the Battle is a memorable spectacle. Neighbouring towns of major interest abound - the mediaeval city of Saint Emilion, Rauzan, Sainte Foy La Grande and Bergerac to name a few. Visit the Romano Gallic ruins of Montcaret, or Chateau Saint Michel De Montaigne. Then there are the quaint villages with their own unique claims on your interest. All set amongst the most beautiful and varied countryside imaginable. Cycles may be hired by the day or week and fishing may be had on La Dordogne and many of the local 'etangs'. For the energetic options such as horse riding, golf and tennis are available. Family favourites are the lakeside beaches - sandy shores with swimming, 'bateaux de loisirs', bars and cafes are to be found. The city of Libourne is 12 miles or Bordeaux's more cosmopolitan attractions are 30 miles away.
