This imposing castle stands near to the water's edge on an island that has been inhabited since the 12thC. Today its idyllic setting in a landscape of lakes and islets offers guests complete seclusion with all the modern comforts associated with a luxury holiday home. The estate itself extends to almost 500 acres. The garden house was the first building to be converted into holiday accommodation in the early 1990s, followed by the main house which sleeps up to 14 and is available for exclusive use rental on a self-catering or fully catered basis. Today the lavish interior makes the castle ideal for private family parties, special events, weddings, corporate functions, or just a group of friends looking for a relaxing retreat. It has been sensitively restored and blends period features and grandeur with modern facilities.   • Price includes all linen and towels (with a towel changeover mid week in a weekly let), heating and electricity and all taxes. Price also includes final cleaning. Daily maid service charged at £10 per hour.

  • Fully catered and self catered available. The dining room can seat thirty at one table, and buffets can be organised for up to forty in the banqueting hall and drawing room. Weddings can be catered for. The castle can offer a variety of corporate packages from large gatherings, to private meetings and even its own cookery school for team-building events.

    From October to the end of January snipe and woodcock shooting is offered. Sea fishing on the Donegal coast can be arranged as well as fresh water fishing.
