Eden Sea apartment

Despite arriving on a Sunday the staff at Rivera Homes were very accommodating and for a small charge we were able to collect the keys at the airport. The welcome pack had maps and guides to the surrounding area which impressed me and proved most useful. The property itself is in a block of only 12 apartments, half seemed un-occupied so it's a fairly peaceful place. The caretaker is friendly and helpful though he doesn't speak English. The property itself is large and tastefully furnished and it's best feature is the panoramic views. From the balcony and to the right you can see Nice and the Promenade D'Anglais as well as airport in the distance. To your immediate left you can see Ville Franche sur Mer and the Cap. The swimming pool isn't quite as large as it appears in the photo, but this didn't matter as it was hardly occupied despite the fact it was early August and the other small apartment block below seemed to have access to it as well. So when we decided just to lounge around the pool we all felt rather spoilt. Maximum number of folk around the pool at any one time was 10 (two families and a couple) and that was for less than an hour over the course of the whole two weeks, perhaps we were just lucky? The exterior of the building at the front is starting to look a bit dated but I wouldn't be put off by this, the vista makes up for it. As my wife wanted to tour around the South of France (her first time) it was also a good base for this, I wouldn't recommend this apartment unless you had the use of a car. Monaco is 15/20 minutes away, Ville Franche sur Mer a few minutes and Nice about 5/10 minutes by car. If you do intend to go to Cannes, Frejus, Grasse or further a field take the 'Peage' (toll motorway). It's far quicker and the coastal roads become very busy during the day, so if you chose these it will take you an age to get anywhere. The apartment is also close to beautiful mountain villages like Eze, which is a must see. The property whilst slightly difficult to locate the first time around is a good little bolt hole over looking the Ville Franche area and bay. There are local shops at the bottom of the hill too for any of those immediate needs. The apartment does have SAT TV but English channels were limited to BBC World and Euro News. My kids therefore watched Italian cartoons for most of the holiday, Italy is incidentally less than 30 minutes away and considerably cheaper than the Cote D'Azur so great if you fancy a pizza! Anyway we liked it.
