Kintyre is an idyllic holiday destination offering spectacular coastal scenery with lots of opportunity for out-doors activities. There is lots to see and do with 5 golf courses (including the world renowned Machrihanish course with the first hole regarded by many as the best in the world), horse-riding, walking, fishing and surfing all readily available, as well as plenty of sight-seeing opportunities. The area is probably most famous for Paul MacCartney's song -the long and winding road' as Kintyre is what inspired him and he still owns a home here.
Killean Estate is located on the west coast of the Kintyre peninsula, in a rural sea-front location yet with easy access to the many amenities of Tarbert and Campbeltown. The village of Tayinloan is just one mile up the road and there are several good restaurants within a short drive. The island of Gigha is just over a mile off-shore and well worthy of a day trip and other islands are also within easy reach.
