Caretaker:
A local English speaking caretaker will meet guests on arrival, show them the house and explain where everything is. On booking, we supply guests with a fully comprehensive information book giving details on where to go and what to do in emergencies etc. The details of the caretaker are in the he book in case of emergencies. The gardener will come in twice a week to do the garden and pool.
Security:
The house has security grills and security system. There are shutters too. The caretaker will show guests how to use the alarm system to the house and safety alarm system to the pool on arrival.
Round and About:
Next to the garden is a footpath which crosses the vines. The surrounding area is wonderful for walking and cycling. Anduze which is only 20 minutes away is known as the gateway to the Cevennes Mountains. This is a superb area for keen walkers and canoeists. From Anduze there is a steam train running from April - November up to St Jean du Gard in the Cevennes.
For those keen on wildlife and birdlife, there are nature reserves in the Camargue.
Beaches are to be found down on the Camargue. Le Roi de Grau and Les Espigettes are safe and sandy and, the latter is considered as one of the best beaches in France. The town of Aigue Mortes nearby is well worth a visit. For a beach closer to home, visit Palavas near Montpelier.
Golfers can visit a number of courses around Nimes, Uzes and Montpelier.
Riding: There is an equestrian centre outside Ledignan about 4 miles from the house.
There is tennis at Quissac.
Scooter and bikes can be hired in St Jean du Gard.
