Photos and Description of this Alberobello holiday house Romantic hide away close to Alberobello & 20 minutes from the sandy beach

Very charming and characteristic cottage near the famous city of Alberobello, 20 minutes from the beach. The house consists of 4 different spaces with coned roofs (trulli). Attached to the trulli is also a lamie, a rectangular building constructed with old stones. This side of the house used to be a stable for the cows. The house has been renovated during the last 3 years. The owners, however wanted to keep and restore all the old characteristics of the house, giving it a lot of charm with its arches, old pavements & little niches. In 2008 a big swimming pool (12x5) was built with next to it a bedroom and bathroom, suitable for 3 persons. The pool has an electric hard top cover providing security with little children. The house has an original functioning old fireplace and an old outside pizza oven. The best pizza's have been baked in this oven. You can ask Maria, our Italian help, to teach you. Maria lives 3 km from our trullo & she can help you with whatever question you will have.

There is so much to do and to see in Puglia and especially in Vall d'Itria. Our trullo is just 4 km from Alberobello, an unesco site. Furthermore you will find a lot of nice other characteristic old italian villages and cities within a quarter of an hour to half an hour drive from our house. Some examples: Cisternino, Martina Franca, Locorotondo, Ostuni, Monopoli, Pulignano al mare, Conversano. Nice sandy beaches you can find at Torre Cane. Our favourite lido is family owned lido Bizzarro (exit Torre Cane Sud), You can enjoy real fresh seafood here. IN the surroundings of our house you can find numerous restaurants of different specializations and in the area tehre are lots of good local wines to discover. If you are in for a bit longer trip (1,5 hour) the old university city of Lecce and the old cave city of Matera are definitely worthwhile the visit.

The cottage is located in the middle of the countryside. A car is needed. You can fly directly to Bari or Brindisi. Ryanair is one of the airlines operating direct flights from England to Bari. From Bari you have to drive an hour to reach our trullo. Myair (Italian low cost airline) flies directly from Amsterdam to Bari.
