The Little Barn is charming, comfortable and welcoming and is a perfect retreat for a couple or small family wanting to get away from it all and experience true French living. Many original features make this barn full of character and life. In the summer it is lovely to have the french doors open and allow the sunshine in, and in the winter the log fire is all you need to make the barn a cosy inviting place to be. The little barn has been meticulously thought out and has everything you could possibly need for a true french country break. On the ground floor there is a kitchenette with all major appliances as well as a lounge/dining area with UK satellite TV. Upstairs there is a spacious bedroom with super king size bed and Shower room with W/C. There is a small garden behind the barn with swings and a BBQ as well as outdoor furniture and toys and a selection of bikes to use at your leisure. Maison daisy- Rustic restored farmhouse (sleeps 6 + baby) is set in a tranquil farm setting with magnificent views. The tiny hamlet is as if time stood still for years. We are family friendly, catering for all ages. Everyone is welcome! Maison Daisy is well equipped, with a washing machine, fridge freezer and dishwasher. The ground level has double bedroom, kitchenette with all major appliances, living and dining area and a W/C shower room. The upstairs boasts a mezzanine area with 2 single beds and a family room with 3 single beds and a travel cot if required. We have English TV as well as a selection of classic DVDs and books. There is a large garden with bbq and garden furniture to enjoy outdoor dining as well as a hammock for those lazy days sunbathing and a selection of outdoor games. We also have bikes available for you to use at your leisure.There is ample parking in the courtyard area for 2-3 cars.

This rural area is about 10 minutes drive from the thermal spa town of Bourbon Lancy, where spa treatments may be booked. Then why not treat yourself to a meal at one of the many restaurants in the area. There are several markets in the region, and one of the best is at Marcigny. For those interested in history Autun is a MUST. Take a trip on the Road Train & see Napoleon's school; the church, Roman amphitheatre and the Military Academy. Take a drive out to the vineyards to have a wine tasting day. Swim or fish in one of the many lakes or rivers nearby, There are attractions for all ages; Le Pal theme park with zoo animals and roller coasters/rides etc, Acro Givry - an action packed assault course with zip wires and ropes walks up to 25m high in the tree tops, mini version for children aged 3-6yrs as well. Diverti park- find your way through the mazes and play giant versions of classic games. Cycling & walking- there are many beautiful areas to explore.Too much for one visit.

We had a brilliant 2 weeks at the little Barn. The location is very rural and peaceful, facilities are very clean and spacious. The views are amazing especialy at night when the stars are amazingly vivid. Try toasting marshamallows on the barbecue whilst lying under the stars!. Access to lots of interesting places. I think we went to a different place every day. The most memorable memory is the lovely fresh vegetables and local meats and the outstanding hospitality of Nigel and Penny. We were well and truly looked after!
Owner's Response: We had a wonderful 2 weeks when Rev Kev and group stayed at our property.We were able to join in with some of their activities, and their comments on places they visited were helpful to us, as we have not had time to get to all the local facilities yet.Penny and Nigel.

We found our gite very comfortable. The property was very clean and well maintaned. Penny and Nigel were fantastic hosts and made us feel very welcome. The surrounding country side is beautiful with plenty of places to visit. You do need a car. We would strongly recommend this to anyone who would like a peaceful, scenic holiday. An experience that can't be missed.

This 200 year old rustic barn was a delight, offering clean and well maintained accommodation and with good facilities. The location is rural offering beautiful scenic views however, a short drive away interesting places to visit i.e Bourbon Lancy.
The Host & Hostess were very warm, welcoming and homely (we thought they were great).

The Little Barn, Les Loges

John and I stayed in The Little Barn for two weeks in May/June.

As soon as we arrived we knew that we had made a perfect choice, the description of the barn and the area were very accurate. The property and surrounding gardens was clean and well maintained to a good standard.

The Little Barn is perfect for couples or single people looking for the perfect peaceful retreat in a beautiful rural setting, we feel it would also be a perfect setting for artists who are looking for beautiful scenery and unusual topics to scetch or paint.

The hosts Nigel and Penny are very friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. They are keen to
share their sightseeing experiences of the local and surrounding regions and of course they have perfect knowledge of the local wines!!

There are beautiful areas to visit, the wildlife is amazing, you can enjoy many creatures close up that we have lost in England eg., red squirrels and beautiful birds.
The many fields and areas that you can get access to for picnics etc, (no barbed wire).
We would definately recommend The Little Barn to family, friends and aquaintances.

A relaxing holiday - one to recommend

Great place for a very reasonably priced get-away holiday. The scenery is tranquil, the people friendly, and food delicious. A car would be necessary for most people, but bikes and walking (once there) are a good way to see the area. The Barn is tastefully decorated, and has a fantastic log burner, which in late October was so attractive. We could have sat in front of it all the time - better than TV. The owners are friendly and seem to love having people around. We were able to enter into their lifestyle easily. Very hospitable indeed. Of course you don't need to spend time with them, - they will totally respect your privacy. This area of France has yet to become a holiday destination, so you see the real France. The pace of life is slow, and friendly. Do eat out - there are many places to go - ask your hosts where is best. This is a holiday destination to relax in - the bed is enormous. Take binoculars to see the other side! You can use them to watch the red squirrels in the garden, and the local birdlife too. Have a "knees up" in the African Hut in the garden. Make yourself at home. That's the idea of this holiday. We'll definately be back!
