Playa Macenas golf & beach resort is situated in Mojacar in the province of Almeria. The area offers many natural & cultural attractions. Cabo de Gata Natural Park which is a UNESCO biosphere reserve, beautiful unspoilt beaches & the exceptional Tabernas Desert with its unique ecological diversity & semi-arid climate. Mojacar offers 17 kilometres of unspoilt beaches with many restaurants & bars. The nearby fishing village of Garrucha holds a nightly craft fair. For the family there is a water park at nearby Vera & also mini Hollywood Studios at Tabernas Desert. The romantic white village of Old Mojacar is perched high on the nearby hilltop where it is reputed that Walt Disney used to live & many artists still reside. In the surrounding area it is possible to go horse riding, walking or cycling in the Sierra de Cabrera hills or Canada de Aguilar. Skiing in the Sierra Nevada is less than 2 hours away by car. Playa Macenas Resort - Mojacar: Playa Macenas is a brand new 5* resort built on the coast just south of the beautiful and very romantic resort of Mojacar. The whole resort has been sympathetically designed and built by the Med Group. The scenery surrounding the resort is stunning and for more pictures of the area please log onto the details of The Natural Park of Cabo de Gata-Nijar - the rugged mountains falling into the sea are breathtaking and the famous sunsets are straight out of picture books.

Dining Out: Eating out in Mojacar and the surrounding villages and towns is an experience not be missed. There are a wide selection of beach bars and restaurants in the area catering for almost every taste. The old village of Mojacar, a short distance away is full of character and charm, its labyrynth of cobbled walkways offers a variety of restaurants and quaint shops as well as spectacular views of the surrounding area.
