The world famous Byblos Hotel and the Tamisa Hotel with their fabulous terrace bars, both serve excellent food and are well worth a visit. Fuengirola, with its miles of sandy beaches is a short drive and is as busy or as quiet as you want to make it. The town has everything you would need for your shopping and social life whilst in Spain. A popular weekly market is held on Saturdays, selling everything from fruit, vegetables and spices to clothing, ceramics and leather goods. There is a daily market for fresh produce. The lovely Spanish mountain village of Mijas is a short drive away with views not to be missed.
La Cala de Mijas Costa is a 10 minute drive through the hills with its award-winning beach. This small, quiet resort has plenty of restaurants and bars and is one of the best beaches on the Costa del Sol. A short drive to the west brings you to Cabopino and a delightful marina with sandy beaches and chic restaurants.
Puerto Banus and Marbella are 20 minutes away. Gibraltar can be reached in approximately 1.5 hours and the ancient mountain towns of Ronda and Caceras about 50 minutes drive.
The Sierra Nevada is approx 2.5 hours drive away and skiing is available December through to April.
Visit the largest Andalucian horse race track at the Hipodromo Mijas located just off the N340 towards La Cala de Mijas Costa.
Marbella old town with it's narrow cobbled atmospheric streets and 'Orange' Square is quite charming as well as the beautiful beach with chic beach restaurants.
Close by is Puerto Banus with it's famous Saturday market and stunning marina with amazing yachts and power boats not to mention the Ferraris, Lamborghinis Porsches etc.
For the family there is Tivoli World in nearby Arroyo de la Miel; enjoy a Dolphin Safari, Water World (Aquaparc de Mijas), go-Karting, Sealife Centre and many more attractions.
