Heath House is one of 3 luxurious houses providing a perfect base if you want to explore the beautiful landscapes, castles and lochs which the Highlands of Scotland is famous for. Whether you're looking for quiet woodland walks, mountain climbing, skiing, watersports, dolphin watching, fishing, Nessie hunting, nights out or nights in, then you've come to the right place. These are practically all at your doorstep! No matter what activity you fill your day with, what better way to end it than returning back to your house in its own 4 acres of woods, where you can all relax around the table, eating your locally bought produce, cooked to perfection on the aga, followed by a nightcap out on the veranda under a star lit sky.

The house is finished to a very high standard and benefits from having the open plan living area on the upper floor, and the bedrooms and bathrooms on the lower ground. There is an 8-seat dining table and a living area consisting of 2 large leather couches and 2 papasan basket chairs to allow plenty of comfort when watching the 42' plasma tv. Sky tv is installed, along with a wide range of DVDs. There is also a supply of games suitable for all ages, and a range of reading books. The balcony has seating and outdoor heater. There are 4 bedrooms (2 king-size, 1 twin, 1 single) one with en-suite shower room. There is also a main bathroom and a shower room, which is situated off the boot room. The boot room contains the utility equipment aswell as facilities for storing outdoor wear (climbing/walking) and has overhead drying racks. The house is a new build, personally built by the owner, in a stunning New England style. It sits in its own 4 acres of wild woodland, perfect for exploring!

Errogie is a small remote village where you will enjoy plenty of peace and quiet. But you are also within easy reach of everything the Highlands has to offer. Explore near and far, and still be home by nightfall. Take a day trip to the Isle of Skye and picnic at the foot of the famous Cuillin Hills. Enjoy a boat trip along the Caledonian Canal and across Loch Ness. Spend a day on the slopes, or enjoy a canoe trip around Loch Morlich. Go dolphin watching on the MorayFirth. Take a tour of the many Castles we have to offer. Or spend some time in the City itself, where you can enjoy the variety of shops, restaurants and bars on offer. Visit the leisure centre, or pop into one of the 3 golf courses. The Foyers Hotel is 4 miles away, as is Foyers Shop and Post Office. The Whitebridge Hotel is 6 miles away. Dores Inn and The Grouse and Trout (both wonderful country pubs/restaurants) can be found 8 miles away. The whole area is rich in forest walks for you to enjoy.

Additional information about rental rates

  • To celebrate Scotland's year of the homecoming, we are offering all remaining weeks in 2009 at the special price of £400.
    We are now offering Monday to Friday breaks at £600 and Friday to Monday breaks at £550 for 2010.
    The price is based on 7 people but extra guests can be added at a cost of £50 per head per week.
    Baby packs containing cot, highchair, pushchair, baby monitor and stair gate can be rented (£25 per pack or £7 per item).
    The booking deposit will be 25% of the total price.
    There is a Good Housekeeping Deposit of £200 required with each booking.

  • The main bathroom is decorated in a stunning black, white and chrome design. There is a large heated towel rail with extra towels. The ensuite shower room is spacious and comprises a shower enclosure constructed from glass blocks. The other shower room is located off the boot room, to allow for use when coming in from outdoor activities.

Linen and towels are provided in each room (extra packs can be purchased). The rooms are all very spacious, allowing extra space for camp beds/cots etc, should you wish to take extra guests.

Adventure Weeks: We are now able to offer our guests 'Adventure Weeks'. These will consist of up to 5 activities such as canoeing, white water rafting, gorge jumping, quad biking, laser combat etc. The price will be per person per week, and will include accommodation at The Heath, daily transport to and from activity, and the activity as well. Bookings are for a minimum of 4 people, maximum of 8-10 per house. For further details, contact the owner.

Thank you building a wonderful house. It is in a great location in the forest not far from Loch Ness. The house is lovely and warm, with a well equipped kitchen, and a spacious living area. A real luxury home from home. Each bedroom has its own personality, with very comfortable beds. Everything is exactly as described and would have no hesitation in recommending it to friends and relatives. We had a couple of small problems on the first day but Debbie fixed them to our satisfaction straight away, even sending a couple of bottles of wine too! Excellent customer service.
Places we visited and would recommend are. The Jacobite steam train from Fort William to Mallaig. The Jacobite Queen boat trip on the Caledonian Canal and Loch Ness. For dining out - The Dores Inn - the game pie and haggis are well worth trying. In Inverness itself, the Mustard Seed has a very interesting menu and the food is excellent.
I would recommend car hire from Arnold Clarke who were very courteous and very helpful, they even upgraded both our cars, free of charge.
