Has potential but could be better

This townhouse has a ton of potential but I believe problems with the property management company will keep it from becoming a great experience. The pool was not ready when we arrived and took two full days before it was clear enough to use. Also it was dirty inside, cobwebs etc. and clearly had not been prepared properely for our arrival. The property management company did make attempts to remedy the situation, but it is a huge disappointment when you rent something and show up and the pool resembles a swamp and there is an inch of dust on everything. The property should be readied the day before, opened up and aired out. Also the on demand hot water heater is not sufficient for the size of the property. Wish I could say better things as it is a nice location with very good ammenities and Tavira is a charming little town. I could recommend this property if all these things were sorted out but until then would say it is a miss.
Owner's Response: Dear Paige, Thank you for you honest report on the property. We agree to the fact that some things where not perfect when you arrived. Unfortunately the pool had been losing water and had to be fixed. Although pushing the builder we have not been able to have everthing finished before your arrival. This is the reason why on the same day of your arrival the pool man came to clean the pool. When I talked to the pool man the next day he told me that everything was sorted and that it would be ok to use on the sunday.
With the check in you pointed out that the outside of the property was not clean (inside was ok). You where right on that and therefor we tried to get the cleaning in as soon as we could. As the monday was full the cleaners came on Tuesday to mainly do the outside.
I wish you would have expressed your complains on the Tuesday when you called me to tell the cleaners had been (or even sooner). During that telephone call you told me everthing was fine. If you would have expressed your remarks at that time we might have been able to make your stay better.
The property has been rented by many families and larger groups (up to 10 people). This is the first time we hear about the lack of hot water, especially because the hot water is heated on demand by a gas burner and not a boiler which would have limited amout of hot water. Of course we will look into this and when needed install a larger burner.
Although your complaints we hope you had a good stay in Tavira and the house and that your ´short excape´ from the heat in Dubai was a succes.
